you can try to re-infuse them although it will be a weaker infusion, unless

you add more fresh herb to compensate.

i like to throw them in the bushes to fertilize them, or throw them in the

compost if you have one.

Infusing herbs

Hello all!

I just finished infusing some herbs in a carrier oil (passion fruit oil),

and now I'm thinking......there must be *something* I can do with the herbs

left over? Surely, they can't just be garbage now. I hate to waste

anything.

Oh, the herb is arnica. I infused it in a glass bottle on the window sill

for several weeks. This is my first true infusion.....be kind! lol

Thanks!

Cindy

Thanks - that's kind of what I thought. Now I'm wondering about my infusion

method - does anyone have a method they prefer or am I stuck with the long-time

waiting period?

Hi,

Yes, you can do that.

A friend triple infuses calendula leaves, and makes a soap out of the

infused oil, and adds the " used " calendula petals to a few bars for me, we

call it " Swamp Soap " but its wonderful to use.

Good Morning to all:

I just joined your group. My husband and I came to alternative

medicine via his heart attack. They wanted to put him on Lipotor

(chol. 230) which is high but not that high. I asked them to give me

a month. The doctors told me I couldn't never get it down in a month

to where it needs to be. At the end of one month I had it down to 159

and in 2 months down to 129 (ldls were 81 and HDL' were somewhere

around 55 I believe). I have to give the credit to my husband who was

willing to do this and it took a lot of dicipline on his part.

But now back to the main question. I make our own soap and want to

infuse a few different herb with oil. Do any of you have any

recommendations on what the most effective way to do this is at home

to get the most out of your herb?

Thanks

Bobbie

Good for you and your husband, isnt that real rewarding! I just started making lotion and when I add an herb is I am making a tea or using a tincture to add it in.
