Guest guest
Since my recent Mastitis experience I have been receiving weekly massages (with attention paid to moving lymph). My last massage was Tues, and Wed morning I woke up with horrible hives on my outer thighs- knees to hips, and around my ankles! They were even in the pattern the Massage Therapist rubbed! Really weird. So far my only relief is found in applying witch hazel to the hives. I've also been taking 4000 mg Vit C and Echinacea tincture, along with hot/cold hydrotherapy. Does anyone have a theory as to why the hives appeared, and how to best get them to go? Thanks! -Raine -- Swap Your Paperback Books - PaperBackSwap.com

Guest guest
Jewelweed soap or lotion might help. You could ask what is in the massage oil and if she/he has changed the oil or formula since your last visit, then see if there is anything in the lotion that you are allergic to. Sometimes it takes a while for an allergy to build up as well. Perhaps you could make your own massage oil using ingredients you know you aren't allergic to and take that with you, ask them to use yours instead of theirs. Guest guest
We use aloe vera gel with some lavender essential oil. The aloe should be whole leaf, cold press. Mix it as you need it. I sometimes put MSM in it too. We use it for poison ivy, and any skin irritations. Works. Guest guest
Thanks so much for everyone who wrote with suggestions. My best guess is that the hives arose from toxins being stimulated during the massage. It's made me realize my elimination system needs more work! I still have them- just a bit. The best thing I found for them (and I tried all suggestions) was Dr. Christopher's Bone, Flesh & Cartilage formula in a cream. Thanks again, Raine rebecca roush wrote: We use aloe vera gel with some lavender essential oil. The aloe should be whole leaf, cold press. Mix it as you need it. I sometimes put MSM in it too.
