Guest guest
Hello everyone! I'm new in the quest to learn what I can about herbs, and was wondering what easy-to-get (grocery store) herbs help a somewhat congested cough, herbs to help clean the entire digestive track thoroughly, and arthritis (I don't have arthritis, but know a lot of older ladies that do that I'd like to help). How do you recommend I use them (tea, oil, plain, etc), and how often? I know thyme can be used for cough in a tea, but I was wondering if there was anything else that may already be in my kitchen I could use. I'm also in the process of reading " Herbal Gold " by Madonna Sophia Compton. What other books would be suggested to read for a beginner in the herbal arts? Thanks for your time! Guest guest
Hi, I wouldn't get herbs in a grocery store, but you could order some online. Maybe you could look into mountainroseherbs.com, and Doc sells alot here, all you have to do is call him. Elderberry is good for lung congestion. As far as what you may have in your kitchen, raw organic garlic will help kill a cold virus. Slice it length wise, coat it in olive oil and swallow it. Organic lemon and raw honey, or raw honey and raw apple cider vinegar will help stop a naggy cough at night. Arthritis is a bigger deal. It's actually an auto immune problem. It's caused from a diet too high in acid and the diet has to be alkaline. You'll need an alkaline food chart for that, and Doc has one in the files here. Also you'll need a good source for organic foods. There are a few herbs you can use in poultice form or in oils to help arthritis pain. You use it when ever you need it. DMSO is not cheap but it works not only alone for arthritis but mixed with other herbs. White willow, nettles (which can be wild crafted in many areas) plantain (which can be wild crafted), mullein (which can be wildcrafted). There are many. If you look into the files you will find just about everything you will need as far as recipes. Doc sells all of the regimes if you can't make them yourself. Doc has a formula of black strap molasses and raw apple cider vinegar a 50/50 mix. You use three tablespoons a day of that. It will help with the arthritis pain as it alkalizes the system, but will work even better when you alkalize the diet. fft -- In herbal remedies , " roseivymoon " <roseivymoon wrote: > > Hello everyone!
