Guest guest
Jeanne, I have only had fresh gogi berries/wolfberries/lichee/so do not know about individual carbs etc. They are eaten in Hawaii as a tonic fruit. when fresh they are not salty and have negliabable calories and carbs, its once you encounter the preservation process/and their are alot of them...that you will have big variances. They are sold dried and salted in " seed shops " on the islands, they tasts salty sour this way and people suck on them not only for the pucker factor, but because they are an island remedy for sore throats/(i.e. salt water gargle) they are sold pickled..i tend to think a lot of the active alkoloids are lost in the process, as with pickled gingers. and they are sold canned (all i can say i yuk) where they have no sweetness and no " body " to them. So, due to the preservation processes, the taste, calories and benefits will vary greatly. Unless you have a supply of fresh or our purchased source is freeze dried to maintain structual integrety and sell as a supplement only..it is really had to say. hope that helps colette
