Migraine Headache

Hi..

My sister has developed migraine headaches again, first time in many years of being symptom free. She has it to the point her vision becomes blurry and then the pain in the oposite side of the head from the eye that blurs.

 

Any natural suggestions I may help her with. Thanks

I used to have a ton of migraines, headaches, dizziness, and balance issues.

Advise her to get off all aspartame products. It certainly is in a ton of foods. I used to have major pain over one eye and my eye didn't want to focus at times. Never related it to the aspartame till I stopped drinking it. Also eliminate, caffeine, sugar, nitrates, msg and other artifiical colors and flavorings. Easier said then done but she needs to start eating real foods.

Magnesium citrate 200-600 mg a day in divided doses will help and if she takes 400-600 mg at the onset of a migraine it really helps. My MD told me that they used to give magnesium intravenously when someone would come into ER with either a migraine or heart attack. Now they don't.........probably because they make more money with all the damn drugs.

I suffered from migraines for 20 years.

 

I recently read a Yoga Journal article that suggested migraines were a

sympton of Magnesium deficiency.

 

Within three months of taking chelated Magnesium, 250mg daily, my

migraines stopped. The article did say it could take up to three

months to kick in.

 

This is huge - my migraines often left me over the procelain

facilities and in bed.

find out if her headaches are cyclical. If they are related to her

cycles, progesterone cream may help. SHe could have hormone imbalance.

Well, the soymilk is "milk" that I make at home with a "soymilk maker" and I use soy beans, brown rice and whole barley to make it. Otherwise, I use silken tofu to make other recipes with. I don't use the soy crumbles (fake ground meat) very much because it is not readily available where I live. I use soy sauce from time to time. the bulk of my protein comes from beans: black, northern, kidney and pintos. I eat lots of tomatoes and tomato sauce, salsa and so on. Thank you for the info on the soy products. I did not know any of that.

I would watch the soy products.
