Marilyn,

Ouch! Well, you really do have to allow plenty of time for healing,

your ankles carry all the weight of your body and you really will live

to regret it if either one of them does not heal properly. Having them

prone to injury due to weakness, or swelling and throbbing everytime

you shop, walk, or stand would eventually cause you to either not

enjoy what you were doing or seriously limit the time you could do it,

or the desire to it in the first place. I know many people who are

going through that now.

Comfrey helps anything and everything heal 60 percent faster. You

could use it by mouth, and poultice. Comfrey tea isn't bad either.

Using it long term or in high doses you should also consider using

milk thistle with it to help protect the liver.

Arnica cream or poultices are used externally for bruising as well as

swelling as long as the skin is not broken, if it is, do not use that

cream. Arnica homeopathic can be used also, and is quite effective for

trauma to the body. I have it in my emergency kit always. Warm cold

applications are good for swelling also. Plantain poultices are good

for pain and swelling.

There are a few herbs that will help with pain and swelling, mullien,

and white willow bark are all good. DMSO which Doc sells is also good

for pain and mixed with the poultices you use will deliver the herbs

very quickly.
