Guest guest
I have problems with my stomach also. I used several RX meds and OTC's. None of them really helped any more than what I will list below. First stop drinking the coffee. I know this is difficult but it will help. Second if you are using any milk products stop them all and see if this helps. They are hard to digest and increase acid production. I also use Ginger, Chamomile and Mint as teas. They help sooth my stomach. Last, but certainly not least, I use 1oz of ACV in about 4oz of warm water when needed for stomach pain. This really seems to help the most for immediate relief. Collee Hi, since I can remember back I have had a serious acid problem, indigestion all the time. I have been on all the prescriptions, and am no longer on insurance, so now I take a Sams Club brand Ranitidine 75 mg, 4 of those 3 times a day. It's all that works. I have been scoped, and all the doc would tell me is my stomach is inflamed and in his words, 'angry'...not real helpful. It's constant. I don't drink alcohol, and only have 1-2 cups coffee early am. I am needing any and all advice. Is there an herbal remedy? I did start taking Ginger and do like that. Thanks, I just have to stop taking so many of these darn pills. Guest guest
Hi and Thank You, what is ACV? I will start looking into the files, I am new here, so if it's listed I apologize for sounding lost. I can stop the coffee, it's a sad loss, but....I don't do too many milk products. Even very young I was this way. Thanks, PattiCollee Wright <colleepatton wrote: I have problems with my stomach also. Guest guest
Beef is also INCREDIBLY hard for the body to digest, so I would cut beef out as well. I would, in the meantime, stick with foods that are easy to digest. A good whole-grain oatmeal is good, as are lightly steamed veggies. Peppermint tea drunk a minimum of 10 mins before a meal will also help facilitate digestion. Actually, I recently learned that the whole " acid reflux " thing is actually a SHORTAGE of stomach acid. I know that sounds strange, and I forget the explanation, but I think that if you don't have ENOUGH stomach acid, your food doesn't digest properly, so you end up sort of getting a second wind of part of what HAS been digested...or something. But when it was explained to me, it made a lot of sense. Just an FYI in case it's relevant to anyone. Important: Google " food combining " and include words like " concentrated starch " and " concentrated protein " in your search query. You may have to follow a few links before you get sufficient info (or maybe not) but you'll come across certain guidelines of which foods can and cannot be combined with which other foods. I have found the whole food combining idea to be EXTREMELY valid. I personally have practiced it for more than 3 yrs. While following it properly, I lost 25-30 lbs in 4 mos practically right away, and kept it off now for 3 yrs and counting. My energy level, digestion, and regularity all improved significantly. When addressing a stomach problem, I would first examine what foods are combined in the same sitting, as that is an underrated cause of many digestion problems. Hope this helps! ~Jyoti herbal remedies , " Collee Wright " <colleepatton wrote: > > > I have problems with my stomach also. I used several RX meds and OTC's. Guest guest
I heard the same thing, but I have to say that this is not true of everyone who has acid reflux--and I sadly found out that this wasn't true for me in very painful ways. We please need to be careful making a broad statement like this.supervixen08 <supervixen08 wrote: Actually, I recently learned that the whole "acid reflux" thing is actually a SHORTAGE of stomach acid. Guest guest
I keep thinking, the ORIGINAL beef was the buffalo/bison. This was THE staple for Native Americans. How can red meat be so "bad" for us when the Native People's diet was big on red meat? Just curious. By the way, we raise buffalo/bison and love the meat. Guest guest
They ate extremely free range, strictly grass fed, lean organic meats which are cholestorol free. They did not eat fattened up with grains and vaccinated animals. Also they dried their meat (so it wouldn't spoil) for the most part, big difference from preparing it in it's own juices and then slapping on the gravy. They also are who taught the Pilgrams how to garden and use medicinal herbs, so I imagine they had a fairly good balance, unlike the people of today. I don't know that Bison and Buffulo were main stays anyway, I think they made due with what they could get, which unfortunately got real tough. fft > > I keep thinking, the ORIGINAL beef was the buffalo/bison.
