There's an intestinal virus being passed around where I work. It

starts with nausea, possibly vomiting, then diarrhea. It's also

accompanied by body aches. Some people have had a fever, but not

everyone. It lasts about a week.

I had hoped to avoid it, given how I eat, but I still came down with a

light case of it. I am taking ginger/mint tea (made very strong with

fresh ginger) alternating with a slippery elm/hibiscus tea. Between

the two of these, I've had neither vomiting nor diarrhea. Overall, I

would describe my condition as " not feeling well " rather than " feeling

sick. "

But what is very puzzing to me is that I am wanting to eat things I

don't normally eat like toast (with the " wheat " bread my son eats, NOT

the 100% whole grain bread I eat), macaroni and cheese, white

rice...yuck. These are things I simply don't eat anymore. I don't

like them. Why am I craving them?

I'm trying to figure out what my body needs. Any ideas?

It could be that those items you talked about are more gentle on your digestive system when you are sick. If there is something going around, I would stick with those items anyways to lessen the chance of diarrhea and so forth.
