Burdock, Which Kind?

I want to use Burdock tincture as a preventative to keep my blood clean and

to release the toxins that accumulate during these winter months. When I

went looking for a tincture, I discovered that people make tinctures of the

root, the seeds, and both the root and the seeds. I searched several

references and found little discussion about the differences between the

effects of the root and the seeds. I will appreciate some help in sorting

this out. Are there different effects between the root and the seeds? Is

it better to have a tincture of the root only or the whole plant?
