Guest guest
Peter, we take two 1000mg caps of garlic oil and one (homemade) cap of cayenne each morning with one or two hard boiled eggs(helps keep the 'heat' in the tummy down) and a glass of distilled water. (We also eat our own raw eggs too.) Along with this we take a Gingko cap and an Astragalus cap too. We've been doing this since the middle 90's with no ill effects, and we both have low bp and cholesterol to boot. We get our herbals and the garlic oil caps from Azure Standard. They ship anywhere! Guest guest
Actually it is not recommend to use Cayenne for any long period of time, cause it can damage your kidneys. Please use Cayenne with extreme caution. Clay Mail Use Photomail to share photos without annoying attachments.

Guest guest
Found some info by googling it. The key words IMO are excessive ingestion. That of course, leaves the question = What consitutes excessive ingestion? Ideas anyone? Barb Excerpt from: http://www.worldhealth.net/p/aadr-cayenne-capsicum-annuum.html Cayenne is potent and can cause serious tissue irritation if used improperly. Be sure to wash your hands thoroughly after using capsaicin- containing creams; avoid any contact with eyes, mucous membranes, or open wounds. Excessive ingestion may cause gastroenteritis, liver, or kidney damage. Cayenne is reported to possibly interfere with MAO inhibitors and antihypertensive therapy, and may increase hepatic metabolism of drugs. Follow label directions carefully and do not exceed the recommended doses. - Barb Leppky herbal remedies Tuesday, March 21, 2006 12:39 PM Re: Herbal Remedies - Digest Number 4399 Can you give us a link which says this? Guest guest
Clay- I have never heard of this. Cayenne is one of the best and easiest herbs to use. It is also the number one emergency herb. I would like to know the source of your information. I have read, researched and used cayenne pepper with absolutely no side effects. What cayenne will actually do is stimulate your organs, starting with the circulatory system. Which in turn will increase blood and nutrient flow to other organs. So if there is a pre-existing problems with your liver, kidneys or other organ it may cause those organs to start healing themselves. This in turn may cause some discomfort and may feel like an "infection"..... but it really is those organs coming "back on-line" and balancing themselves..... Any time an organ is damaged you will have little, if any, notice of it.... there are no nerve endings to let you know that the organ is damaged....as opposed to the skin, where if you have a cut you know it because it hurts... what you will notice is when that organ tries to heal itself..... because it will be dumping toxins, you will feel discomfort in that area or possibly cold/flu like symptoms.... THIS IS YOUR ORGAN TRYING TO HEAL ITSELF!! Western medicine diagnoses this as an infection and gives anti-biotics....which totally stops your body from healing itself and actually drives the disease deeper into the body.... this is possibly the worst thing (antibiotics), for your body, that you can do.....other than maybe taking a hammer and smashing your big toe Your body cannot feel when there are pathogens in a certain area.... what it does feel is when your body starts fighting these pathogens....because when your body kills the pathogens it produces a toxin that needs to be removed and it can overwhelm your eliminatory organs.... many people who have liver disease, heart disease, kidney disease, etc.. won't know for many years.... because they won't be showing symptoms....but this doesn't mean there is not a problem... the human body is an amazing system with one mission, survive at any cost.... so if there is a problem with your kidneys and your body isn't functioning correctly, it will give your immune system instructions to put the kidney issue on the back burner, so it can spend it's energy on keeping you living and moving.... when the body has a choice between healing the kidneys or continuing to breath, yeah....pretty easy decision.... so the body will wait until it has more nutrients and the "energy" to heal the kidney problem.... the main issue with this, is that we rarely give the body a chance to take up the kidney issue again.... that is why if anyone has done the lemonade cleanse (or another cleanse), your body will show all kinds of symptoms b/c your body doesn't have to digest food which can take up to 2/3 of your body's energy.... it will use that excess energy to start healing the body..... and just a side note, if anyone was going to do the lemonade diet (master cleanse) I would highly recommend cleaning out the intestinal tract for a few weeks before this.... There is absolutely no reason to fear Cayenne pepper..... and in fact every reason to incorporate this wonderful herb into your arsenal... Guest guest
As this quote is from a MEDICAL website, I wouldn't put too much value on it!! Allopathic medicine likes to say bad things about natural healing remedies, which are of course never as good as THEIR medicine! LOL Example, putting cayenne on an open wound apparently is good for it. I personally have never tried this but have heard others on this list talking about the benefits. I also have never heard of any potential kidney problems with taking cayenne. Clay, why don't you give us the source of that information? love Lisa herbal remedies , " Barb Leppky " <bleppky wrote: > > Found some info by googling it. The key words IMO are excessive ingestion. Guest guest
Black pepper is undigestible far as I know and it does hurt the kidneys. But I have never heard of red pepper doing this as it is not a pepper " corn " , but an actual veggie. fft herbal remedies , " Barb Leppky " <bleppky wrote: > > Can you give us a link which says this? Guest guest
Good point Lisa! For myself, what I've decided to do is use the tincture and not the capsule. That way my tongue will tell me enough is enough!
