Microwaves...to use or not to use...that is the question

Gasp - I have to ask the question....do any of you use microwaves? We just moved and bought one for our new house, but it is all but catching things on fire and obviously is malfunctioning. We are taking it back to the store. Do I replace it?

I love the convenience for heating things up - but I suspect we are killing our food each time. It is sure nice to zap a cup of tea to warm it up!

Hubby will not be happy if it has to go - but no better time to get rid of it than when we are first moving in. Hopefully, I can show him your responses (I have already sent him the Dr. Mercola stuff on them - do you agree with this?)

And Doc - I am 100% with you on this moving is awful thing! We moved cross country- wow.

Thank you in advance

LisaB!

Ask yourselves why Russia banned microwaves in their country back in 1976. You'll find the answer here. Barb

I don't use microwaves. I have one, I just don't use it. As soon as

I can afford it, I'm going to buy a small " toaster " over for heating

up small amounts.

I also do not use one although we have one. My husband uses it here

and there and I lecture but I refuse. I found I can use my toaster

oven for just about anything.

i stopped using mine a year ago. have a toaster oven that works great. and a teapot for teas. i find that with the convection setting on the toaster oven things warm up almost as fast as microwave but taste far better. and if u just put the amount of water u will use at the moment in the teapot, that warms fast too. my mom has never used a microwave. she refused a long time ago. i should have listened to her then! angelaMarci <twilli55 wrote: I also do not use one although we have one. The only thing I use a micro wave for is heating hot packs for therapy. Other wise it kills our food and most of it is dead when we buy it, even the fresh veggies and fruit. Not all but some. Do not heat your herbal tea in the wave, because it destroys all the nutrients. Be well, MeganLisa Baughn <lisabaughn wrote: Gasp - I have to ask the question....do any of you use microwaves? I keep thinking I should just get rid of my microwave. This is the

ONLY thing I use it for - heating hot packs! If I could find another

convenient way to heat them, it would be outta here!
