Guest guest
Hi! I am used to making tinctures in large doses, so half of this would be sufficient- 750 ml of apple cider vinegar 750 ml of distilled water 6 ounces of dried herb (your choice) Mix it all together in a large glass jar with a tight fitting lid. Let sit for 12 to 14 days in a cool, dark place. Shake the jar every day. After the 12 or 14 days, strain the liquid into brown glass dropper bottles. Hope this helps! Guest guest
Hi, I'm new to the idea of tinctures, extracts. Is there a book that tells me which herbs to use like you suggest versus maybe other solvents like alcohol? Or is alcohol not the preferred method? I guess the vinegar keeps bacteria from spoiling the mix? Just wondering. Regards. - Amber Grant herbal remedies Saturday, February 18, 2006 7:33 PM Re: Herbal Remedies - Re: red raspberry leaf tincture Hi! One of its past issues had a section about making tinctures, I am not sure which issue but if you have a local used book store that stocks magazine it would be worth it to see if you can find it. The issue was sometime over the fall/winter monts and it should be too hard to find. The article gave a nice visual on the herbs and what the finished product looked like. Here is a link to the stories. Search Results
