Guest guest
My home business is based on scented oils (candles, bath products, etc) and I know for a fact that both many essential oils and practically all synthetic oils can kill pet birds if they breathe it in. It doesn't harm cats, though, to breathe it, but be careful that they don't ingest any - some can be toxic to them. Personally, I've found the best way to train young cats is to shoot them with a small water gun when they do something like scratch the furniture, jump on the kitchen counter, etc. A little water doesn't harm anything, but try and make sure they don't see that you are the one causing the water to " get " them! :-) And confine them to one kitty-proofed room when you can't watch them, so they don't learn they can get away with doing whatever-it-is when you're not around. After they've learned it well, then you can begin to let them have run of the home when you're not there. They'll usually calm down a lot naturally, after they're " fixed " and about a year or two old. Myranda
