Guest guest
Hi, everyone! I started the Total Body Cleanse on Friday, January 20th. I had bearable detox symptoms (headache, stuffed nose, runny nose, sore upper back/neck/shoulders) for the first 3 days. Since Monday, I have been experiencing practically crippling pain in my lower back and hips. I can barely walk or sit, and the only relief is lying on a heating pad which is next to impossible since I work mornings and also have a 3 year old to (try) to chase when I get home! I got very little sleep last night because of the pain. The hot bath last night with Epsom salts felt good, but relief was only temporary and I couldn't get comfortable in bed. This morning, the pain is still in my lower back and hips but is also now travelling down my legs. I know that these are likely detox symptoms, and I'm trying to grin and bear it, but my body is screaming " Give me Tylenol " ! What can I do to alleviate this pain, and how long can I expect this? I was supposed to start Intestinal Cleanse #2 on Friday...if I'm still having this crippling pain, should I delay starting IC#2? I'm just worried that if I do start IC#2 on Friday feeling this way, I might overload my system and feel even worse. Your advice is appreciated! Thanks, Darlene

Guest guest
Hi, Gina & all: Yes and Yes. If you don't want the graphic version, stop reading now! Yes, with the IC#1 (only one daily) my bowel movements are more like diarrhea. After I have my shower in the morning, I make my Total Nutrition with UDO's oil added and within 5 minutes I'm in the bathroom. I am sticking to the vegan diet during this cleanse and my bowels are definitely moving usually each time I go to the washroom. I am drinking only water (other than the Total Nutrition which I make with apple cider). I'll try increasing my water intake even more to see if that helps. I practically fell asleep last night in tears. It feels like spikes are in my hips and the pain travels though my buttocks and down the back of both thighs like sciatica. Do these sound like detox symptoms?? Maybe it's a total coincidence and I actually do have pinched sciatic nerves in both legs?? I don't know what is going on...all I know is that I can't put up with much more of the pain and I'm really struggling with it. If these are detox symptoms, then they should be over with after the first week, right?? If they are not gone by Saturday, then I will have to see my massage therapist to see if she can help. So...should I start Intestinal Cleanse #2 as planned on Friday, or should I wait until this pain goes?? Thanks so much for writing, Gina. By the way, are you the same Gina Kopera with website of the same name? If so, I have read your journey and it is quite amazing! I've got to visit again to see how your fasting is going!!
