Guest guest
Morning, WOW! I have to say that I am not the one asking about the dog loosing fur but I so appreciated the response. I am going to try and incorporate these ideas into my dogs diet. I also have another problem. We acquired a 2 year old female cat (thrown out) who has tapeworms. Before we brought her inside, we had her fixed and wormed at the vet. That didn't help. We have also used Worm clear (contains worm seed) for 14 days. That slowed them down but she still had them. I then bought worm gone ( contains worm wood) and have been using it for 10 days. It also slowed them down but she still has them. Should I use it longer than they say (homopathic) or can you give me a cure to get rid of them once and for all? She is an indoor cat and has no fleas. Please help. I have run out of ideas, Susan Photos Got holiday prints? See all the ways to get quality prints in your hands ASAP.
Guest guest
I am in my late 40's and have been on HRT, Estratest since my mid 30's I have decided to wean myself off of this and went from decreasing this dose from daily to every other day now to every third day. Needless to say, hotflashes, and I have a dry mouth (that may not be related). What do you recommend in a natural product to replace the hormones (something with wild yam cream?) - I needed the extra testosterone with the Estrogen. For some reason, the dr thought I still needed the HRT but the nurse practitioner said I could quit it cold turkey. Let me say that this is the dr who told me to come in for a colposcopy when my last pap came back abnormal then asked me what I was doing there when I came for the procedure and asked me if I had my uterus (dah, if she read my chart, guess she would have known - I normally see the nurse practitioner) Hysterectomy was complete, no uterus, no ovaries or any other female internal organs for that matter. Also, I have been on Prilosec for years and am taking 40mgs daily, now I want to get off this also - can I gradually cut back to a lower dose, say 20 mgs daily and go from there? Doesn't Prilosec shut down the proton pumps? I just had a blood workup done and asked for the H-Pylori test to be done - still no results from any of my bloodwork and had that done on Dec 30th - I have made several calls to the drs office but nothing yet. Boy - do I know how to pick em or what? Does anyone have a link to the alkaline diet I hear everyone talking about? Thanks for listening! Guest guest
Susan, I know that black walnut and Pau d'Arco bark are good for expelling parasites, but I'm not sure how you would give it to a cat. I used Pau d'Arco tincture on the wound of a wild bird that I was doctoring. It had a worm in it's open wound that I couldn't get out. It would dive down inside the bird every time I tried to get it while cleaning the wound. I dropped two drops of the tincture on the wound and that worm came shooting out at me. So disgusting, but it worked. Debra - Susan Ward herbal remedies Sunday, January 22, 2006 9:49 AM Re: Herbal Remedies - Digest Number 4343 Morning, WOW! Guest guest
Susan, Diatomaceous Earth......there's a site listed below. Harder getting the kitty to do what you want her to. Garlic kills parasites very well, and a little raw grated carrot helps to scrape eggs and larva out. My cats used to eat it just because I did, but I realize not all are that way. Here's one of the sites I enjoy. Not sure what she recommends for tapeworms, but you'll probably get some help there. http://www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.com/ You'll have to kill the cycle going on there, and make sure the dog doesn't get into any kitty rocha. If you put her on enzymes it will avoid that particular problem. Tapeworms are caused from fleas. Raw apple cider vinegar in the water, go very slow at first, drops only, to acclimate her for the new water. This will keep the fleas away from her and the parasites will not like it either. Garlic will also keep the fleas away. Borax, works for fleas and their eggs. Sprinkle it around to kill the fleas, and eggs ending that cycle anyway. Not sure if it will suck the living juices out of the tape worm larva or segments, but my " guess " is that it will. This way you will not have to treat again in 30 days when the fleas hatch out. Dust your carpet with the Borax and vacuum, dust where she potties even outside and where she hangs out. When the animals walk around, they drop eggs and egg casings (which can make us ill) the fleas lay the eggs on the animals. So you will have to treat the areas they (the animals) move around in. As for Diatomaceous Earth, here's an interesting site to glean over..... http://www.critterchat.net/worming.htm Parasites do make us all so ill. If you do not incorporate lots of garlic, or bitters in your diet, to prevent parasite infestation, may I suggest you deworm yourself and family for sure now. You may have to ever so slightly cook her food in the beginning to get her on raw. Also some of the animal foods have sugar, they are as addicted as we are. The food industry knows that addictions pay. Check and see if you will be dealing with that as well when you switch them over. Wormwood and black walnut hulls are great for adult parasites but I believe cloves are more effective for killing larva. I hope this helps you and the very fortunate " rags to riches " kitty. fft also slowed them down but she still has them. Should I use it longer than they say (homopathic) or can you give me a cure to get rid of them once and for all? She is an indoor cat and has no fleas. > Please help.
