Guest guest
Hi Kris, Wellll, there isn't much difference between treating humans and animals, no quick fix, sorry. Your dog needs to be put on a RAW FOOD diet. Look up BARFing online and how to do it. When you feed him veggies, they need to be already chewed up similiar to the way they would get them on a kill. They eat the belly first. Soooo, juice his veggies and pour the juice into the food as well. There intestines are much too short to digest veggies cut up or whole, you have to grind them up. They need only one percent of the body weight of raw meat. Organic is best. You could use a local butcher to order in foods by the bulk. For instance, they can order in organic meats for you, chicken backs, are roughly 60 cents a pound but you have to order the minimum which would be about 30 pounds. Turkey necks are best to start them on, good bone ratio to meat, then ground chicken at 20 lbs a box would be roughly 80 cents a pound. You add a drop at a time at first if he will not drink raw (from the healthfood store) raw apple cider vinegar and work your way up to 2 teaspoons in at least 2 quarts of water. If he'll drink it, then start him off with 2 teaspoons right away. Have only had 2 dogs out of 100's put their noses up at it. No FDA standards on dog food, no telling whats in that bag of kibble. Doesn't matter what the label says....... According to my homeopathic vet, ALL foods sold for dogs has to be tainted (legally) with some sort of chemical, even if it says it's human grade and homeopathic. Pharmacies sponser medical students, Science Diet sponsors Vets....truth is Science Diet is the second worst food on the market, Purina being the worst. If you can buy the food that your dog eats at the grocery store I guarentee it's somewhere in the 10 worst list. You can't really lower the acidity in a dogs diet, so you will have to build up his immune system and get him off the steriods carefully, slowly as they are HIGHLY addicitive and his heart could fail if you do not wean him off slowly and scheduled. The steriods will weaken his immune system quick this time next year you will have a real mess. I would recommend the MSM and a very good brand of it, they are NOT all equal, along with the raw apple cider vinegar, CS if you can get it, NO TAP WATER!!! Distilled water. You could and should get him on probiotics as soon as you can possibly buy the distilled water abd 2 heads of organic cabbage to make him some. The recipe is in the files (cabbage water). Remember " BARFing to improve health " is what you are looking up online. Keep in mind that things typically get worse before they get better and this will hold true for him. Withstand the erge to put him back on those steriods when he starts cleaning out and itching. Let those toxins come out. fft herbal remedies , " mydreamcasa " <mydreamcasa> wrote: > > Not me , my dog!!! There is hair everywhere! Guest guest
Kris, I hurried that last post so quickly and left, I just got back in and just have to add.... He has been vaccinated? And maybe even in the past three months? I would juice him some cilantro to help him throw off heavy metals and I would also put him on milk thistle for his liver ASAP, and charcoal to help absorb toxicity. You can fast him on broth too if need be. I like to fast my dogs at " least " one day out of the week. In the wild they do not eat daily, so don't feel guilty about fasting a dog. If they are fed properly they will fast themselves. He may be a domestic pet, but his DNA is wolf, if you want him healthy, you will have to " treat " him as such. Organ meats are awsome for them, you can usually order them from a butcher or a local organic meat supplier. There are even places online you can get green tripe for dogs. Never vaccinate a weakened animal, no matter what the problem is....humans either EVER, EVER, EVVVER even if they just have the sniffles. The laws are there to protect the ill and weak from vaccines and there are waivers for just such an occassion, utilize them, and make sure you have a Dr. or vet who does, if they blow you off as if insignificant, FIRE THEM!! The law is there for a reason. Do not ever feed a dog onions, make sure you read labels if you are making him treats, or food. Do not add anything containing onions including baby food in jars or gravy mixes. Do not feed a dog grapes or raisins, and by no means chocolate. Especially the real expensive stuff, the higher the grade of chocolate the deadlier it is to them. Do not use flea dips, or front line or any of those products. You will find with a proper diet they will not even smell " doggie " any more and many of the old troubles will disappear as well. You can use garlic for sand fleas, worms and mosquitoes and such. He should eat it right in his food. What the garlic doesn't cover, the raw apple cider vinegar should. Freshens breath, and nutralizes the system, flies and mosquitoes and parasites hate it so it keeps them away from all live stock including horses. I hope you can get him switched over ASAP, he will detoxify and get the runs for a few days, he may appear to get worse at first, hang in there. Grains in the kibble are just plain bad for a dog, rice, wheat, corn, barley, oats, soy, yada yada yada...where in God's name would they get those in the wild?? Wheat " grass " is a different story... It's all about getting back to the basics...for you and him. fft herbal remedies , " food4tot " <food4tot> wrote: > > Hi Kris, > Wellll, there isn't much difference between treating humans and > animals, no quick fix, sorry. > Your dog needs to be put on a RAW FOOD diet.
