__________ Herbal Remedies for Hypoglycemia Licorice root, Gotu Kola, Siberian Ginseng root, Ginger root. Directions: Brew and drink 2 to 3 cups of tea daily. Indications: This blend contains herbs that provide quick energy by stimulating adrenal glands. It balances blood sugar and improves digestion. Use with caution if you are pregnant or lactating or have diabetes. About the Tea Ingredients Licorice root: Licorice may help your body secrete adrenal hormone for quick energy for those with hypoglycemia, allowing you to function until you can eat food. Licorice helps digestion by stimulating the secretion of soothing mucus in the intestines and

stimulating bowels and kidneys. Gotu Kola: Gotu Kola does not contain caffeine, but it does act against mental and physical exhaustion. It stimulates circulation, which speeds sugar to tissues. Siberian Ginseng root: Siberian Ginseng is clinically shown to balance blood sugar levels. Ginger root: Ginger aids digestion and stomach function. It also stimulates circulation, which accelerates blood glucose delivery. About Low Blood Sugar Blood sugar (glucose) is your body’s energy source; your brain cannot function without it. This is why low blood sugar, or hypoglycemia, is so serious. Hypoglycemia occurs when there is too little glucose in the blood, often caused by the pancreas making too much insulin. You can get a hypoglycemia attack when you go without food and do not get enough blood sugar. This can be quickly remedied by eating something

sweet like orange juice or candy. Hypoglycemia occurs most frequently in diabetics, and is often associated with headache, nausea and rapid heartbeat. In non-diabetics, hypoglycemia is often misdiagnosed as stress, because the symptoms are very similar: extreme fatigue, weakness, nervousness, perspiration, mental problems and even delirium. Hypoglycemia can be very serious. Hypoglycemia Causes Your body uses the hormone insulin to extract energy from blood sugar (glucose) after digestion. When you eat, carbohydrates in your food are broken down into sugar, which is then absorbed into the bloodstream. Therefore, the amount of sugar in your blood increases soon after a meal. The pancreas secretes insulin to process sugar in your blood when sugar levels are high. The insulin allows sugar to enter cells (especially muscle cells), and controls when the sugar is burned for energy. As blood sugar falls again, the

pancreas slows production of insulin, as it is no longer needed. Insulin secretions are elevated after a meal, as described above. Insulin levels can also be raised by a pancreatic tumor, diseased liver, or with alcohol or sugar intake. If too much insulin is secreted, blood sugar is used up too quickly. When the sugar level in your blood falls, your body does not have enough energy, and tries to obtain energy from fat and muscle. This leads to fatigue, muscle weakness and other symptoms of hypoglycemia. Hypoglycemia Remedies Always wear a bracelet to identify your condition in case you suffer a serious attack. Keep a stash of hard candy or sugar packets with you. Inform your friends and family that they should give you three pieces of hard candy or three packets of sugar if you are disabled during an attack. If they are unable to arouse you within ten minutes, they should call for emergency treatment. DIET: eat six or seven small meals per day to maintain a balance between glucose and insulin. Eat plenty of whole grains (in breads and cereals), cheese, vegetables and fish. Avoid desserts, caffeine, alcohol, and cigarettes, and limit your fruit juice intake. Make sure you are getting adequate amounts of chromium, vitamins C, E and A. If you are diabetic, EXERCISE: Hypoglycemia can occur when sugar is released into the bloodstream too slowly because of malnutrition due to over-exercise. If you increase your exercise, be sure to eat extra food. DURING AN ATTACK: Eat or drink anything containing sugar, such as fruit juice, soda, candy, or sugar packets. Taking protein in the form of milk or cheese will help balance the sudden sugar elevation. WARNING: If you are diabetic and lose consciousness during a hypoglycemia attack, call the paramedics. You must receive a glucose injection

immediately. ...Be Blessed in the Right use of this Knowledge...JOYintheMorning... ____________________Vanessamelly wrote: Hi does anyone know any remedies for Hypoglycemia please let me know as i am having a difficult dealing with this thanks
