Manuka honey

3 weeks ago my 8 year old son went swimming with some friends without sunscreen.

I'm assuming that at some point in all our lives we've experienced a severe case

of sunburn. You know the kind where blisters form even after you've used just

about every product offered for the relief of burns. Well this was one of those

times for my 8 year old - it was BAD.

A few months earlier a friend told me about Manuka honey and how well it would

work for my acid reflux. The results have been amazing, but that's a story for

another time. Prior to going out and getting some Manuka honey, I did some

research and saw where it was being used in combat and soldiers who received

serious burns.

When my son was burned, we looked around the house and made the decision to coat

his shoulders, upper back and chest with this honey. His skin was so hot, the

worst part was just applying it as his skin was so sensitive to the touch.

Well, we got through it, got a nice coat on him, put a couple of big t-shirts on

him, and the results were mind blowing. The next morning all the areas were cool

to the touch and while the tops of his shoulders were still bright red, the rest

of his upper torso looked normal. We put a little more Manuka honey on those two

small red areas and by that evening...normal.

Absolutely amazing!
