Have you gotten your adrenals tested? How about your thyroid?

There are several ways to treat your adrenals. Herbal medicine; acupuncture

and western medicine.

I have adrenal fatigue and I treat mine with both acupuncture and a

vegetarian plant based herbal formula.

There could be underlying health problems that are causing adrenal

fatigue. Have your doctor take tests. It could be an ongoing infection or

inflammation. It can be candida overgrowth, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)

irritable bowel syndrome, or any of a number of health problems that cause

ongoing

stress to the adrenals. it could be just emotional stress.

Your diet should be a healthy one and contain sufficient amount of proteins

and complex _carbohydrates_

(http://www.buzzle.com/articles/carbohydrates/) . Avoid junk foods, coffee or

soda. Also avoid processed foods, tobacco

and alcohol. In addition, a poor diet including sugar, caffeine,

hydrogenated oils, Monosodium glutamate (MSG, and refined foods further weaken

the

adrenal glands. Eat small meals every 2 to 3 hours. Fatigue occurs when the

amount of stress overextends the capacity of the body to compensate and

recover. You need to do some exercises such as yoga, deep breathing, walking or

meditation.

_Nutritional supplements_

(http://www.buzzle.com/articles/nutritional-supplements/) are important for

nourishing and strengthening the adrenal

glands. It will help restore healthy functioning of adrenal glands. People who

have hypoglycemia are usually suffering from decreased adrenal function.

Foods high in magnesium such as kelp, almonds, cashews and other nuts,

brown sesame seeds, whole wheat, peas and beans. Avoid hydrogenated and

partially hydrogenated oils. Avoid foods high in potassium such as bananas,

oranges, grapefruit, raisins, dates and dried figs as they make adrenal fatigue

worse.

Vitamins helpful for Adrenal fatique: Vitamin C, Magnesium, Pantothenic

acid, DHEA,, Niacin, Vitamin E, and B Complex.

Herbs for Adrenal Fatique: Siberian ginseng, Ginger root, Schizandra

, Ashwagandha, Milk Thistle, and ** Licorice Root. ** Caution Licorice

root over a long period of time can cause high blood pressure, salt and water

retention, and low potassium levels.
