A single payer system, will lead to rationing of health care services, and

euthanasia of the elderly eventually, I believe. Baby boomers are retiring at

the rate of 2000 a day, this is going to be a huge load on the govt. medical

system in the future.  What is going to happen to them?  When they are sick, and

taking up too much funds?  We know in other countries, they come here when they

can't get care.  This will lead to maximum caps, and rationing of health care

benefits.  What will happen when you have reached your limit?  You are not

eligible for any more care under the govt?  You don't have any more funds?

Think about it.

This is dangerous.  80% of people are happy with their healthcare. The 20% that

is not, should be helped, not changed for everyone. Also, government officials

WILL NOT have the same plan that we all have, they have their own special

plans.  If you get a chance to talk to your Senators or Reps, ask them, Will you

be using this plan yourself?  Because if it is not good enough for you, it is

not good enough for us.

Right on Bonnie!!! I agree on every count, but $700 is probably

an overstatement... a savvy person who follows the wisdom of this

forum could likely get it done on a third of that amount.

The questions are: What will it take to make what you say happen? Ron

Paul spoke of it briefly in his campaign. Can his son pick up the torch

and carry it to the finish line? Hopefully as the internet gains

strength and the information highway widens, a greater portion of our

population will catch on and push for real healthcare reform.

$700 a month would be more than what would be needed in alternatives to

actually " cure " your mother's cancer, and midwives are highly trained in

delivering babies and then the 22 poisons that are injected into the

baby at birth under the cloak of " vaccinations " could be avoided. The

American people need to take responsibility for managing their own

health and not look for the magic pill to fix everything without having

to do anything to fix it themselves. Health can no more be regulated

than morals can, what might work for you, isn't going to for the next

person and so on, so someone is always going to have a complaint. The

real healthcare reform that needs to take place in this country is to

lift the restrictions and allow ALL avenues of health to be practiced,

not just the allopathy monopoly that is taking place now.<

There are wealthy people from other countries who come here for treatment, but

our wealthy also shop around the globe. One seriously ill actor has adopted a

German treatment for his ailment. Kennedy imported doctors from all over the

world to help him.

To my understanding, the German system of national health care takes the least

invasive approach first, which is usually herbal and other what we think of as

'alternate' therapies. This is a cost savings to them.

In countries with socialized medicine there are no movements to drop their

system and to follow the corporatist-driven US system. If their systems were so

bad, you'd think newspapers and forums would be full of stories of crowds taking

to the streets to get rid of government health care. This is not happening.

Like our attitude to Medicare, Social Security, unemployment insurance, they do

not want to give up their government health care.

When I visit Canada, I see lots of 80 year olds. You'd think the Canadian death

squads would have removed them by now, wouldn't you? The fact is, the insurance

companies plow so much money into advertising that they are scaring the very

people who need this program into voting against their own best interests.

We really should wake up to the scam that is being perpetrated onto us. No

other time in this nation's history has the biggest cause of bankruptcy been

because of health care bills - and these folks were all working and middle class

and had insurance. They are now poor. That could easily be any one of us.

Costa Rica has better health care, measured by longevity and live births, than

the US, yet the average income is about one sixth of that of the average

American. Why are we spending so much and getting so little?

'Health care' should not merely be about operations and drug taking.

This is what we have in the current system. Our government is bought off by

corporatists who are also funding groups and advertising to brainwash the public

to act against its own interests. This must stop.

Have you considered that, if the government supplied our health insurance, it

would have a vested interest in keeping us healthy? Don't you think it would

then be in the government interest to, instead of representing big business, to

keep us healthy? Is there just a possibility that our air and water would have

not gotten so polluted and some drugs and chemicals would not have hit

agribusiness if government had to pay for the illness these things may have

caused?

Business is terrified of government health care. This could eventually cause a

cascading effect all through the business world.

In my book it is a step in the right direction, a move in which the American

citizen can do nothing but win.
