Guest guest
I would say that the pharmaceutical industry and their army of lawyers does not very often loose a case and the rare ones that they do loose, .. probably result in the pulling of certain drugs from store shelves and a lot of times the drug company also is then required by law to publish the results of the harm that their drug has caused. They only recently have been ordered to make the print large enough so that we can actually read the warnings. I think all those drugs are harmful and can be deadly especially when you start talking about the drug cocktails where people are taking ten and twenty different pills a day and nobody cares what is really going on. Yeah, it's probably because they have such good lawyers and are in the pockets of all the politicians and on down the line. Don't think for a minute it's 'cause those other drugs are 'safe'... no way.. looking for a few good women and New Yorkers ourrealnewsplace/ ________________________________ ccmg1234 <ccmg5678 Thursday, 30 July, 2009 18:53:59 << >> Why are certain drugs taken off the market and not others? Some estimate that pharmaceuticals are the fifth leading cause of death for Americans and the leading cause of addiction. If these stats are true then are certain pharmaceuticals taken off the market because they prove to be especially deadly or because for some reason they've received more public scrutiny than other pharmaceuticals? The media thrives on hype and increases ratings by scaring the public about certain drugs that have killed a few people. The media has to weigh the benefits of a story that increases ratings but may alienate its corporate revenue sources. So why do some drugs which may have harmed only a few individuals receive much more coverage and are banned than probably many others that are at least as deadly?
