Guest guest
My daughter is 26 years old with a diagnosis of Rubenstein-Taybi syndrome which causes mental delay as well as physical anomalies. She is 4 " 10', 160 pounds even though she was breastfed for over a year and has almost always been fed pretty nutritionally, she struggles with weight and has for years. She rarely gets sick, and shows no signs of reflux except in her teeth. She does snore at night and I believe she has apnea, but her bed has been raised for years and she rarely gets milk products except Kefir. Our dentist keeps pushing Fluoride and I keep not giving it to her. I was rubbing her teeth with Co-Q10 to offset the acid built up at night. It is hard to get her to brush her teeth so I take her to the dentist every month. They tell me she is losing enamel due to the acid and I am stumped. I have researched, but not come up with a homeopathic dentist near here (Jacksonville, FL). Can anyone give me suggestions to help with either the reflux of her teeth issues? I give her enzymes, but evidently not enough! Thanks so much for any suggestions/help!
Guest guest
-There is no specific treatment for Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome. Symptoms such as mental retardation are treated as necessary with speech and cognitive therapy. Surgical repair of thumbs or great toes can sometimes improve grasp or relieve discomfort. Treatment may not be necessary in all cases. -- In , " grannyjoyalways " <grannyjoyalways wrote: > > My daughter is 26 years old with a diagnosis of Rubenstein-Taybi syndrome which causes mental delay as well as physical anomalies. Guest guest
I apologize for any confusion. I am not looking for treatment for Rebunstein-Taybi, but help for the dental issues and reflux she is experiencing. I mentioned the other to let you understand that I can't just tell her to do something and she will. Thanks again , " tcmadvisory1 " <tcmadvisory1 wrote: > > -There is no specific treatment for Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome.
