Hi group

I have just developed Irritable Bowel Syndrome (I have been under lots of

stress). What is the best form of alternative treatment to use for this

(homeopathy, nutriceuticals, ????) I really want to get control of this if

possible.

What is a good diet for this? I have just started Nourishing Traditions for my

family. I make our fiber and have just started to juice as well. We are

organic/natural with no artifical ingredients.

Thanks,

Alice

There is cultured cabbage that heals the gut - this can be consumed as just

the juice from cultured cabbage, the cabbage itself or even as kimchi and

Sauerkraut. However taking cultured cabbage or the juice with every meal is an

effective way of healing gut issues.

And the SCD protocol is sure fire winner if anybody wishes to heal any

digestive issue.

Healing Crow SCD Protocol

Today, the SCD is being used successfully by many to treat the following:

Autism, Crohn's disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Celiac disease, Cystic Fibrosis,

Chronic Diarrhea, Candidiasis, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). " The medical

literature is rich with reports relating the favorable effects of dietary

changes on the course of intestinal disease. "

the only way it will work for you " . Sections - Introduction; Getting Started;

How do I start the SCD?

http://www.scdiet.org/4faq/starting.html

A large part of most problems with digestive issues seems to be sugar -

whether it is sugar as in white sugar or sweets or the sugar in fruit of even

milk sugar. This is an SCD recipe for making yogurt using milk but without

getting any milk sugar. I find it makes a big difference in how I digest milk

products. The thing is though that yogurt without sugar is a sour tasting - so

if you will eat this depends a lot on your family. But this is also an

inexpensive and effective way to get probiotics and tastes better to me in any

case, then cultured cabbage or cabbage juice.

But whatever else you also put in your gut is important as othewise you

could be undermining the beneficial effects of the cultured cabbage....... so

back to the SCD protocol........

SCD YOGURT

This yogurt is fermented for 24 hours instead of the 4 to8 usually suggested in

most yogurt makers. This causes the milk sugar to be taken out by the fermenting

process, making this yogurt good for your digestion system and even more

beneficial. SCD yogurt is also an important part of the SCDiet, because the live

culture in the yogurt repopulates the gut with 'good' bacteria, thereby bringing

the overgrowth of harmful bacteria under control.
