Of course if a person has gained weight, the spleen is most likely deficient and the muscles flaccid. Which came first? So from a western view, exercise and lose weight, stop snoring. Of course excersise and a clean diet will likely improve the spleen. ;-) Chris
Guest guest
Some interesting ideas from Dr. Tan. I don't understand the reasoning (nor his style of herbalism), but this is reported to work clinically. A combination of: -Yin Qiao San -Ban Xia Hou Po Tang For more commentary on the rationale, see Dr. Tan's forum at: http://www.drtanshow.com/dcforum/DCForumID1/276.html -Mike > However, my plan for > CHA was that we would all learn from each other every time such questions > were asked. Guest guest
Spleen manifests in the muscles. Tongue and throat muscles become flaccid with Spleen Qi deficiency, leads to snoring. That's my take on it, anyway. Haven't seen anybody complete a full course of this approach though, so I can't go to bat for its efficacy. Guest guest
I was checking up any new threads in the last few weeks, and was suprised to see a response to a question I posted a while ago. There were even a couple other interesting threads. Glad to see the list 'focusing'. Ban Xia Hou Po T looks pretty straight forward - get rid of phlegm in the Upper Jiao. I suspect the Yin Qiao is there for the throat soothing and treating a possible component of heat. I wonder if heat is common with snoring then (ETOH often triggers more snoring). I would say a large majority of patients with long standing phlegm have hot phlegm rather than cold phlegm, so maybe this added heat clearing will help. , mshort@z... wrote: > Some interesting ideas from Dr. Tan. Guest guest
My partner has a serious snoring issue. I have never heard anything like it. Is there anything other than surgery he can do? It sounds like it has to hurt something! He sleeps just fine. I get NO sleep and we have resorted to seperate bedrooms. I am really concerned for his health & he doesn't think he needs to see a DR. Please help! Thanks!
