Guest guest
I was diagnosed with CKD (stage 3) about 3 months ago that the nephrologist thinks was caused by prolonged high blood pressure not detected. Essentially my kidneys are functioning at 50%. I am on Hyzaar to keep my BP low (he wants it around 110/60) and potassium because the diuretic in Hyzaar is causing my Potassium to be low. I take these both 1x daily. I also take Melaleuca Prenatal vitamins with an Omega-3 supplement which I have noticed helps my BP stay lower. I also have started Ionic Foot Baths once a month to help support my kidney function. I consume a healthy diet (South Beach phase 2) and restrict my sodium quite a bit. Is there anything else alternative-med-wise that I could be doing without a ton of supplements? I have done an archive search and either I am not using the right key-words or there is not much related to my specific issue. Any reference to what I can do to maintain or even improve my current kidney function is much appreciated. With Utmost Gratitude, Christy Putnam AFFIRMATION: I am whole, well and unlimited. Guest guest
Christy, You said you reduce your sodium a bit. I am also hypertensive and i reduce my sodium a lot for my bp not to rise. Also use sea salt instead of table salt. Drink lots of water. Stay away from commercial snack foods they contains lots of salt. As to your kidney, read up on COQ10 and kidney failure. Google and you'd be amazed. Discuss with your MD if this is suitable for you. Melly

Guest guest
Consider probiotics. While often associated with just bowel function, certain probiotic strains allow the colon to process creatinine, urea and uric acid that would otherwise be processed by the kidney. Less wasted processed by the kidney, the slower the progression through the stages...at least in theory. www.kibow.com , " Christy Putnam " <personal_balance wrote: > > I was diagnosed with CKD (stage 3) about 3 months ago that the nephrologist > thinks was caused by prolonged high blood pressure not detected. > Essentially my kidneys are functioning at 50%.
