Guest guest
Does anyone have any especially enlightening references on tackling getting rid of yeast/candida. I acquired a high yeast count from many antibiotics for lyme. After some trial and error I want to eat a middle of the road diet eliminating the worst offenders but choosing to eat legumes, all nuts and some fruits. I am wondering if I eat a very healthy diet, take my probiotics and eat middle of the road if I can forge ahead of the problem slowly. Guest guest
Hi Doug I, like you, have landed in the same situation after taking many rounds of anitbiotics due to Lyme. I am still trying to get the Lyme under control while dealing with the added yeast/candida situation. Both seem to do best by following a yeast free and low acid diet. One suggestion, my doctor has me testing my urine for my ph balance to see how well I am doing. I have found this also will indicate when there is a " die-off " and I usually will herx. I also am finding that I cannot eat everything I want. The trick is to find out what I can eat and pick those things that I enjoy and REALLY learn to enjoy them. Nuts are tricky because some of them are more succeptible to molds which will flare yeast. Best choice is walnut, have also done well with cashews, walnuts are good too, but can cause high level acid. Fruits can either be too acidic or too high in sugar. The best choices are berries, pears, and suprisingly grapefruit! Strongly suggest testing with the ph strips which you can get in a local pharmacy. Everyone body is different. Also, stay away from all yeast product, including, soy sauce, ketchup, worcheshire, dressings, mayo, etc. You can use apple cider vinegar and lemon or lime juice. Hope this helps. All the best to you! Love, light, peace and joy, Debbie , " dglsrichey " <dglsrichey wrote: > > Does anyone have any especially enlightening references on tackling getting rid of yeast/candida. Guest guest
Hey Durham Doug, Have you heard about the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD). I've been using this diet as a basis for healing for about 6 1/2 years. I say basis, as I seem to have a major problem with candida (and leaky gut - all culminating in a diagnosis of Crohn's Disease - long story) when I eat anything with very much sugar (ie fruits, nuts, etc). If I keep on a really low carb diet, with the exception of ripe bananas, which are a staple, I heal just fine. Interestingly, in all the time I've been on this diet I've had not a single new filling in my teeth. Considering I couldn't go a year without at least one new filling, I think this is rather significant. Anyway, you can start your research here: http://www.scdiet.org/ and here: http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/index.htm Cheers! Guest guest
All forms of sugar - including fruit sugar, and milk sugar, natural unpasteurized honey, etc - as well as all starches including grains " feed " candida. As long as you continue to 'feed' the candida it will be impossible to get rid of it. When you want to eat anything with sugar in it, remind yourself that it is not 'you' that wants the sugar or starch - it is the defense mechanism of the candida, it wants/needs to be fed ......................... Taking the probiotics is very good but you will need to stop feeding the candida too. A very effective diet and protocol is this one, though it is not easy to stay on it -at least it wasn't for me. But if you do stick with it, you will be very very pleased. Bee also has a candida group and is very helpful Healing Naturally by Bee If you are feeling sick, run-down or fatigued, have degenerative or autoimmune diseases, allergies, are over or under weight, or you have multiple illnesses this site will help you regain your health naturally! Just a quick note for you , I use collodial silver daily for immune system help and it helps to rid candida, the silver is a pleasant tasting liquid. You can buy a kit much cheaper to make your own than buying from Health Stores.http://www.economysilvergenerator.com/ Do some research and you will find you need to keep the ph balance lower in your body. Use hydrogen peroxide as a mouthwash , helps very much. Hope this helps, Tim from the Midwest.
