Guest guest
Hulda Clark says some Baking Soda is polluted with Benzene and most brands contain aluminum even if it does not mention this in the ingredients. Do not use Baking Powder as most Baking Powder does contain aluminum. Baking Powder is just 1:1 Baking Soda and Tartaric acid aka Cream of Tartar. A byproduct of Aluminium smelting/processing is Bicarbonate of soda (baking soda). Do not use baking soda which has had aluminum added to it, such as Arm & Hammer Baking Soda. Today Arm & Hammer company produces almost all the baking soda that is used in the United States. Alcoa sells its Baking Soda byproduct to Arm & Hammer. Buy a product which specifically states it does not include aluminum or other chemicals. http://www.altmedsales.com/index.php?target=pages & page_id=Baking_Soda

Guest guest
Carol, The information you posted is incorrect. Hulda Clark does NOT say most baking soda brands contain aluminum (she says most baking POWDER brands contain aluminum). Bicarbonate of Soda is NOT a byproduct of Alumimum smelting....FLOURIDE is a byproduct of Alumnimum smelting. This is how Arm & Hammer produces their baking soda (which has NO aluminum): " ARM & HAMMER® Baking Soda is made from soda ash, also known as sodium carbonate. To make ARM & HAMMER® Baking Soda, the soda ash is mined in the form of an ore called trona. The soda ash is then dissolved into a solution through which carbon dioxide is bubbled and sodium bicarbonate precipitates out, forming " Pure, Safe and Natural " ARM & HAMMER® Baking Soda.
