Greetings,

I too am treating diabetes. I have cut out all " white " foods from my diet, let

go of the sugar, flour, rice, potatoes - all carbs!!!! Cut down on the alcohol

and INCREASE the exercise. Your numbers will immediately go down.

Diabetes can be treated with diet and exercise and CONSISTENCY!!!!!

So immediate and permanent lifestyle change is in order. We eat too much of the

wrong foods and don't move enough to metabolize it. . . therefore begin to do

the opposite. . . Eat less, more of the correct foods and MOVE, MOVE, MOVE!!!!

I also joined the diabetes_int which gives support and really

good info regarding controlling your eating and gloucose.

It's a whole new world - this diabetest trek .. just hang in there and take

control of your own wellness. .. Bless

Hi Theresa,

I don't have much advice to offer but I can offer support. I also am overweight

& have high blood pressure. I also HATE meds. I know how hard it is to get up &

moving. I am here for you!

I'm pretty intolerant to meds as well and I found insulin shots to be really

helpful in controlling my blood sugar.

Alternative medicine might be able to control some of the symptoms but I think

you would still need western meds to treat the problem. But I could be wrong.

Alternative medicine like acupuncture could help with the symptoms of this.

I am having some medical issues concerning my heart. The dr put me on statins.

Can anyone recommend anything to counteract the depletion of nutrients due to

these meds?

Thanks!

Eczema- dry skin & scalp

My skin and scalp is flaky, dry and itchy. I am nursing my son and was told by a

doctor to " get a good moisturizer " which has not helped. I get a bit of relief

by adding a few drops of tea tree oil to my moisturizer, but it does not last.

Which type of DM are you? I would bet you are type 2. Because with type 1

you have to take insulin otherwise you will die, since your pancreas does

not work anymore.
