Hi, I'm Jordan from Las Vegas. I have had colitis for over 2 years. I have had

diahhrea everyday for over 5 months but if went away this last weekend. For two

weeks now I've been using an all natural supplement based from rice husks or

rice bran. Has anyone else tried any products with rice bran as a base? Have you

had any success? Any input is appreciated. Thanks, Jordan

Hi Jordan. You may want to do an internet search on Dr. Mark Hyman's work with

intestinal disorders. He uses rice protein as a base for treating leaky gut.

Rice is used by those with celiacs disease as they do not seem to have a

tolerance for many of the other grains. There is a diet called the leaky gut

diet by Hyman. I have used it with fantastic success. It is my belief that

anything that would cure or aid leaky gut would be an asset for other intestinal

disorders. I had numerous disorders until I moved to his diet and began doing a

gluten free diet. I also use Heather's Tummy Fiber. It is acacia powder used to

manage irritable bowel syndrome. It has done wonders for me. You can find the

product and her web page with many tips on the internet. If you choose not to

order on the internet, there is a 1-800 number listed on her web page for

orders. She also recommends fennel tea and some other aids for releaving the

discomforts. Certainly her web page is well worth checking out.

Good luck in your search.

Hi Marina, thanks for response. Is the leaky gut diet anything like SCD? I think

at SCD they were talking about it being a slight variation. I'm actually at a

pretty healthy stage of having Colitis right now. Being a mostly SCD diet

person, Remicade, Antidepressant, and antinflamatory user, after my blood

transfusion in February, I can out of the gate roaring to go. The last drawback

was the D. This rice bran seems to be taking care of that. Maybe being without

grains most days kept the D around... Aren't we all getting better at self

analysis! I joined this group because my husband just grunts when I get a

theory. Does anyone else have a way to stop Diahhrea?
