Guest guest
When I had cats that could go inside or outside as the pleased, I mixed 1/4 teaspoon of brewer's yeast powder with each cat's canned cat food each day from early March to after several frosts in the fall each year and they have no fleas. But the first year I tried it after they already had fleas and it made the fleas leave the cats and bite us instead. You need to start a month or more before flea season to get it built up in their body. It makes them taste or smell bad to the fleas. Since doing this we have had no fleas (or not enough that we noticed) for 6 years except once when we went on a 2 week vacation. Update: In their last year of life, they did get fleas, maybe because they didn't eat the food with Brewer's yeast any more. But I never used flea collars.
