Guest guest
Raw diet means vegetables, cereals, fruits and milk and maybe egg yolks, but definitely not meat , especially if you have joint problems. It would much better for you to get back to cooked food and remove completely meat and eggs and most diary products excepting yogurt, eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole cereals, lenses and chickpeas, almonds and nuts and you will notice the difference. I have a health challenge with my hip and worn cartilage. Lately I've been eating a raw diet, raw milk eggs, cheese, vegtables and meat. I've heard it all has great regenerative properties but I have also been told to stick with mostly vegitarian stuff because of my A+ blood type. My hip has also been hurting more lately for some reason. Do you think that could be because of the raw meat, cheese, eggs, honey?? Thanks! Guest guest
Actually cooking can destroy many of the vitamins and nutrients in the food, depending on how it is cooked. Steaming is the best way to cook veggies. Eating raw food is healthy, you just have to be careful about cleaning the food prior to preparation and of course eating raw meat is usually a no-no, unless it is fish. ---- ronixo 3/5/2009 3:52:52 PM << >> Re: Raw food diet I thought that eating raw foods is not as healthy because your body can't absorb the vitamins and nutrients as well as when they're cooked, and raw foods are just good for some fiber... Could someone shed any light on this? Roni
Guest guest
Huh? Raw fruits and vegetables have living enzymes that help in the digestion process. When you cook foods, you destroy the enzymes that help to digest the food, thus causing an extra burden on your body which has to compensate for the lack of enzymes. After awhile, the body is no longer able to compensate for the lack of enzymes and disease state sets in. In other words, eating a diet of only cooked foods ages you prematurely. Remember, life comes from life. Cooked food is dead food. With very few exceptions, the only food you need to cook is meat. While most people cook beans, you can even eat those raw if your sprout them. I used to think that pizza was a breakfast food. I bought the cheapest food I could find and then patted myself on the back for being able to make ends meet. My current diseased state is the result of my bad eating habits combined with other things that I had total control over. For example, were it not for the ice cubes in my drink, I would not have had any water. Sleep was for other people. I had too much to do, too many places to go. Now, I have lots of time to sleep, to drink eight or more glasses of water every day, and to eat almost all of my food raw. I have recovered a measure of my health. But I fully recognize that the problem was one of my own making.
