Guest guest
Hello Mia, Not John here but I will give you an informed opinion. > John, my 6 year old daughter has strep throat right now, I am scared to > death because this strain of strep is resistant to antibiotics. I am trying > some homeopathic remedies right now, but no luck yet. There are various groups of Streptococcus that are considered to be resistent to various antibiotics .. but susceptable to others. Then we have the groups of Staphylococcus that are in the danger zone as far as resistence is concerned. > I have Oil of Oregano, but I know that my daughter will not put it under > her tongue, any ideas on how to get her to take it? I am afraid that her > strep will turn into scarlet fever, there are two kids hospitalized here in > VA for scarlet fever now. It's very scary. But my daughter wont' take > anything that tastes bad though. How much should I give her anyway? It says > 1 to 3 drops on the bottle (under the tongue). (Snipped) I will say without concern of even being slightly incorrect that when anyone has a bottle of Oil of Anything .. in this case, Oil of Oregano .. they are in possession of a diluted oil and that is why the sellers do not call it by its proper name .. Oregano Essential Oil. Odds are that if they do use a botanical name they are calling it Origanum vulgare but it might not be .. and it matters not because any of the Carvacrol rich Origanums will produce the same results. The oil is diluted so they can make such recommendations .. it is too weak to really cause harm .. they could not recommend it otherwise and I promise that if you put a drop of pure Oregano EO under your tongue .. or even let it touch your lips .. you are gonna learn a new dance step. Putting Essential Oils under the tongue is a fad (marketing hype) that was created some years back by Cass Igram of the company, North American Herb & Spice .. and it has been adopted by many spin offs of that organization. Not long ago, North American Herb & Spice was fined 2.5 million dollars and are still having to deal with the FCC and FDA on some other issues that might get them into more hot water. I am not a medical doctor so I am not allowed to make recommendations that could be interpreted as prescribing medicine without a license. But .. if it were my daughter I would purchase a bottle of pure Oregano Essential Oil from any of the many people who offer it .. I would use Origanum vulgare or Origanum onites or Origanum dubium Carvacrol .. and I would have my child sniff it straight from a cotton ball. The principal of Aromatherapy (which does work) is to inhale the volatile molecules of various oils .. in through the olfactory system .. and from there is does well in entering the body. There is absolutely no scientific or even empirical evidence to support the use of Oregano via absorption under the tongue .. and the evidence in support of ingestion is a bit flakey in that they have not been able to make firm determinations of what form a chemical takes when it encounters stomach acid .. at least not yet on a living human being. > Thanks Welcome you are and I wish you and your daughter well. > Mia Keep smiling. :-) Butch .. http://www.AV-AT.com PS: John .. Oreganol is a product of North American Herb & Spice. > I highly recommend oil of oregano - it can be put under your tongue. > It will wipe out even strep throat.
