SeaLady,

I am no expert here, but I have read many books written by doctors who

specialize in thyroid treatment, and all of them have stated that Fibro is

simply undertreated or untreated hypothyroidism.

In your case, I bet you that many years of being undertreated (using

Synthroid is being under treated) that you then developed Fibromyalgia. I

don't know if fibro can be cured, but I do know that it can be prevented

from ever occurring if you are on optimal levels of thyroid meds, how much

Armour are you taking? Have you ever had your RT3 checked? You may need to

take Cytomel ONLY for a few months to clear out your RT3 and then switch

back to Armour when your RT3 issues clear up, I have heard great things

from folks who have done that.

And it sure is worth a try for sure, but only if you get your RT3 tested

first.

Mia, you stated below that Fibro is just untreated hypo - but what about

all

of us that ARE being treated for hypo and STILL have fibro???

I would not be surprised with the connection as many, many hypo's seem to

have Fibro - but in my case and many others it hasn't gotten ANY better at

all with thyroid treatment.

I originally started out on synthroid, then cytomel was added and then I

forced the doc into writing armour for me - recently I had to change docs

and that doc hated armour so I agreed to switch and try Synthroid again -

especially if it helped....it made me the sickest I have been in more than

10 years...

So I am back on armour - but the fibro has remained with me for the last 17

years. I also have a pituitary tumor which complicates things as well,

don't sleep well no matter what I take script or non - I wish your

statement

was true though - would be nice to completely get rid of the fibro.

Fibromyalgia is simply undiagnosed hypothyroidism.
