Yes Comfrey will help with back pain. There are other plants for back pain too,

ST Johns Wort, when nerves are involved, Mullein and the root of Solomon seal.

These are used externally, rubbed on, can be oil or tincture but with the back a

nice massage with a healing oil is very good.

You can make a Castor Oil pack, soak a piece of flannel that is long enough to

be folded over three times in Castor oil, have the cloth saturated but not

dripping. Place the folded over flannel cloth over the painful area and wrap the

area with plastic wrap. Use a hot water bottle over the area for heat. Rest and

leave this on for around 60 minutes. Store the cloth in a covered container in

the refrigerator you can reuse it up to 25 times.

 

This will/could relieve some of the pain. I have use castor packs and have had

some relief when having muscle spasms in my back. During those times you are not

resting for the 60 minutes as you use the castor pack you may use the oils made

from the plants.
