if you are NOT on birth control pills, my first thought would be Vitex

agnus castus.... inhaled... (if you'll privately email me your mailing

address we'll send a tiny sample...) IF you are not on the pill.

other thoughts might be clary sage, geranium, and rose otto... a blend of

all three...

Hi,

I am new to the group. I have had great success with alternative

medicine in the past, and would like to know if anyone has a suggestion

for perimenopause symptoms such hot fashes and severe mood swings.

Thankyou!

Unfortunately I don't know of any help for you now, but since the topic has

arisen...I will share that I am planning on delivering my second child at home

in March and having my placenta encapsulated for either post partum depression

(hopefully not needed) and saving capsules for perimenopause as a form of the

most natural hormone replacement therapy from my own body! Which I thought was

cool to know and wanted to pass it on to anyone still planning on having

children and wanting to prepare for the future where perimenopause is inevitable

for all of us women and treatment is almost universally artificial, sometimes

ineffective and not tailored to each woman's exact hormonal needs, and mostly

frustrating...

I hope you find something more on this...I did catch the end of an Oprah episode

where she had doctors/therapists/and Dr. Phils wife? presenting the

controversial treatment of this problem for women and if I were you, I might

check into Dr. Phil's wife's book she wrote on this very topic - she seemed

upset with the medical community in how they handle perimenopausal women and

eager to want to help women find a more natural and logical way to get help.

And there was another woman doctor on the show that wrote a book on

bio-identical HRT options...maybe thats a start for you...Good luck and stay

optimistic if possible - you will find something to help you through!!!
