with natural progesterone. The lack of sleep is really starting to get to me...I

not be taken

when you have an autoimmune disease?

I would not take 20mg a night though, you would do much better on less

melatonin, less is more, about maybe .3 to 1 mg per night at the most.

Hello Mia and Algaecat,

I agree with Mia on this one as consistency with less produces way

better results. Maintenance doses not overloads will beat this more

efficiently.

You know if there is no contraindications (an adverse negative

reaction to mixing your condition with any drug, nothing indicated to

the contrary)for your thyroid condition (I despise the word 'dis-

ease',) look into steeping some chamomille with a liquid shot of

kavaKava. It is a root and can be bought in liquid form, is very

bitter though needs honey (don't take if allergy to pollen and such

is known) and is tolerated well to induce 8 hours of necessary hard-

to-reach 'rem' sleep . . . g nite algaecat, hee hee !

I have low thyroid and fibromyalgia; good quality sleep is very

important for fibro and I was having a lot of trouble getting a good

nights sleep until I started using melatonin. After some research, I

started using a 3 mg. sublingual w/B12 (the B12 is supposed to help

somehow). When discussing it with my ND, he suggested I may not need

3 mgs. so I started cutting them in half and found it works just fine.

So, in my case, less was actually better but from what I've read, you

shouldn't take anymore than 3 mgs. As for autoimmune disease, I

personally haven't come across any reference to that. Perhaps you

could ask Dr. Weil @

DrWeil.com

Hope this helps.
