Guest guest
I sent my previous mail before I recieved yours with more details, so here goes... I have PCOS (Poly-cystic Ovarian Syndrom) and my symptoms are: obesity, mood swings (we are talking sybill on crack, here...) anxiety, depression, quick to anger, weepiness, sleep apnea, tired all the time, headaches, muscle aches, irregular menstrual cycles, excessive menstrual bleeding, fatigue, excessive body hair (face and chest), infertility, allergies, insulin resistance, candida, and acne. If this sounds familiar, talk to your OB/GYN and ask for a referral to endocrinologist for more tests. My treatment plan currently is: 60 min exercise daily (walking or swimming is fine... I just have to move), Lose weight (very difficult for me, so I am on a 1200 calorie diet with zero sugar or processed food and low carbs.) Metformin (glucophage) to keep my insulin in line. Cymbalta (to help with the anxiety and sleeping issues) Supplements: Candex (to treat the candida), Tulsi tea (as a general tonic) a good multi-vitamin, B12 (midafternoon to help combat siesta-itis), Omega 3 (I take both cod liver, faxseed, borage and evening primrose oils), Vitamin D (I may start tanning instead), Vitex, Wild Yam, L-Glucosomine and probiotics. Now, not everyone is willing to take Metformin or Cymbalta or do not know what to do from an alternative medicine standpoint. In my case, desperate times called for desperate measures. When I learn of a better alternative method, I will discuss it with my AMFP (Alternative Medicine Friendly Physician) or he will bring something new to my attention to try. Guest guest
Acupuncture and herbs can help with depression. If you have severe clinical depression, exercise is not going to help you, you have to replace the seroatonin and dopamine in your body that you are lacking. ---- Guru K 12/17/2008 7:35:58 PM << >> Re: Unsure of test to request Desiree One of the best things for depression is exercise and especially aerobic exercise. Go running, play soccer, basketball, swim, etc. Also, pranayama can help.
