Guest guest
I have been feeling " not right " for years but have passed it off as many things...moving, having kids, birth control pills/ring, work you name it. I have gained weight, and the most dominent thing is I'm tired, cranky, and at times ANGRY. I feel this has to do mostly with the hormones of birth control pills and my doctor prescribed me valium for the angry spells before and during my cycle...I took it for 1 day and hated the way it made me feel. I want to find the source and then the solution...I don't want to just treat symptoms!! So I'm on the quest to demand tests ...but not sure what tests. I was thinking getting my hormones tested but since I'm still using the birth control ring not sure it would test correctly. In addition, was thinking of vit D and magnesium levels. Does anyone have suggestion or advice on what I should have tested to figure out why I'm moody instead of just dopping myself up? Thanks for your input! Desiree N. Guest guest
In my experience, it's been a combination of hormones and congested liver. By hormones I mean all, not just estrogen and progesterone. The thyroid and adrenals have a lot to do with it as well. So, IMHO, I would ask for a full hormone panel. > I have been feeling " not right " for years but have passed it off as > many things...moving, having kids, birth control pills/ring, work you > name it. Guest guest
Desiree N, Get your thyroid checked. Hyper or hypo thyroid causes lots of mood swing. Melly

I have gained weight, and the most dominent thing is I'm tired, cranky, and at times ANGRY. I hate to suggest another " drug " but I started on bio-identical hormones several years ago and, for me, progesterone has been the miracle drug of the century. I should have been on it since my period started. There is an excellent resource website www.powersurge.com run by a doctor and he answers your questions. Also Ageless by Suzanne Somers (of all people) is excellent. Most of my life I was angry and emotional three weeks of the month. I yelled screamed slammed... then for a week, I was normal and lovely. Two people. Now, most people don't have it this bad but that was me. Progesterone evens me out. I'm the lovely me (well, for the most part) all month. If I skip a couple of days, my sons and husband ask if I've been " taking my meds " ... hahahaha. They don't call it The Feel Good hormone for nothing. I also take a lot of vitamins. The two that help my mood the most are melatonin at night (6mg) to help me relax and fall asleep when I hit the pillow, and Vit d3 (5,000iu) which I also take at night. Both you need to adjust the amounts to suit. Dr. Mercola on his website this morning has a video on Vit D and all it does for you (www.mercola.com). I haven't seen it but over the past year, I've been reading his newsletter and have come to trust what he says (even though he sells stuff.) Another good one is www.naturalnews.com by the Health Ranger (can't remember his name). We are researching and hoping to do chelation this year (www.noamalgam.com). From my reading so far, I might be able to forgo hormone supplementation once chelation is well underway. We'll see. Until then, no way will my family let me drop the regimen! Good luck with it. I'm convinced there is a natural solution to our physical ills, either thru food (mostly elimination from the diet) or supplementation. Hang in there! Guest guest
Hi, Would that be progesterone cream? and was it compounded for you? > I hate to suggest another " drug " but I started on bio-identical > hormones several years ago and, for me, progesterone has been the > miracle drug of the century.
