Guest guest
A friend has recently developed a persistent sore throat. She went to the doctor and was given antibiotics, which seemed to help for a minute. She again developed a sore throat and difficulty talking. She actually could not talk for 3 days. " Now for the last 3 weeks, I have been taking meds, but the sore throat will not go away. I have no fever, no swollen glands - just severe sore throat aggravated by talking. This is especially difficult when I have to yell at my 19 year old son. " Does anyone have any suggestions as to the cause? Her GP has no suggestions, just more antibiotics. Gratefully, Lynn

In my experience of working with clients, unresolved emotion can contribute to the growth and gravity of 'difficult' symptoms (sore throat in this case). By accepting this principle your friend could arrive at her solution or cure, but, remember please, that your friend's sore throat a symptom of an underlying malaise which is seeking release and resolution with her assistance. Not everyone can correct their problems without help. Some need to learn new skills or have their attention directed towards new ways of thinking and doing, or be reminded of old skills or understandings before they can do so. A single visit to a reputable clinical hypnotist would be an avenue to explore as often it is best if new learnings occur at an unconscious level. In short, all hypnosis is self-hypnosis, so an initial training in the nature of trance and its induction would be paramount so that your friend could then find her own solution in her own time and in her own way. Who knows, with her new mindset, instead of shouting at her son, your friend could sing La Traviata - that should do the trick! Be well, Rupert
Guest guest
Is the sore throat caused from post nasal drip? if so Quercitin works very well to clear that up. If not Traditional Medicinals makes a tea called Throat Coat that works very well for sore throats. Trying both in combination wouldnt hurt either! Hope she feels better soon! Guest guest
My son has the same mysterious problem. Persistent (5 months) sore throat, no known cause, says doc. Started when he bought a rotissarie cooked chicken from a supermarket, ate it and got violently sick afterward. The food poisoning (a euphamism for bacteria?) went through his system and he got well, but his throat has been sore ever since. Right in the back of his throat, it's red as if it was a strep, but the doc can't find a germ. He has been tested for gerd and any kind of reflux, but nothing there. It's a mystery. He is going to try EFT to get accupoint meridians involved, and I'm going to get him to take mega doses of vitamin D when I see him at Christmas. Any new info that you come up with, please post on this website. Marji **************One site keeps you connected to all your email: AOL Mail, Gmail, and Mail. Guest guest
Lynn, have your friend gargle with hydrogen peroxide morning and night, and increase vitamin C intake. Guest guest
Sometimes in people with immune problems (that can include food and enviornmental allergy problems) viuses can become chronic and the body will harbor them, anytime the person is under the weather or stressed, the virus will resurface and cause problems. Strep is one of those viruses that do that. The best treatment is to strengthen the immune system through a good healthy diet, vitamin D, avoid foods that cause you allergies, take supplements that strengthen the immune system like Colostrum, antioxidants (Reservatrol is a good one, so are ORAC supplements and vitamin C), and if you need to do anti- virals, Olive Leaf Extract, Virastop, Grapefruit Seed Extract can be helpful. Another thing that can cause persistent sore throat is yeast overgrowth. Yeast can attact any part of your body. You might want to do a throat culture for yeast. If it comes back positive, then ingesting uncapsuled probiotics is a good idea, as well as taking them in capsules. Using supplements like Caprillic Acid, Candex, and other yeast fighters is also helpful. Nagla , marjij wrote: > > My son has the same mysterious problem. The food poisoning (a euphamism for bacteria?) went through his system and he got well, but his throat has been sore ever since. Right in the back of his throat, it's red as if it was a strep, but the doc can't find a germ. < I know you said he's been tested for gerd, but I had the same problem and it was a tiny bit of acid coming back up into my throat. I had no heartburn, no nothin' that one would associate with gerd. I took Nexium (drugs are my last choice today) and that cleared it up. We've since changed our diets drastically and I rarely get any acidy response. I used to get sore throat for months on end and it was the acid - never heartburn, just a sore throat with a slight burning sensation - so slight I couldn't really identify it as such. I thought it was sinus drainage which is what everyone called a sore throat that lasted for months in the winter or allergy season. I would check foods. We've given up all dairy and wheat and processed sugar and that's made a huge difference in our day to day health. Besides dairy (which, I've discovered, always gives me an acid response) when I eat cooked tomatoes (including sauce... pizza) or raw onions, I get the acid. Just those two foods! So I'd check foods and I would not rule out acid completely... it's a devil. There are some good sites that talk about viruses - some of the autism and chelation boards (adult-metal-chelation) address this at length. Good luck!
