I don't know why but a naturopath at the Hypocrites Institute told me

that cod liver oil is, not only bad for you but even causes cancer. Can

anyone tell me why he would say this? This is a guy who charges

a hundred fifty dollar per half hour for his nutrition advice. Other

things he said make a lot of sense and he didn't change me.

Just really wondering why he would think Cod liver oil is so bad.

I assume because of the fear of vitamin A toxicity and causing decreased bone

density. However, after doing a lot of reading on this topic, I believe that

this is not something to fear, especially if you find the right high quality

CLO. There have been plenty of studies to prove that Vit A can be toxic in very

high amounts, however there has not been one study (as far as I could find) that

proves that this toxicity happens when the source of the Vit A is from a natural

one (not something like Retinol, but from fish, eggs, veggies, liver, CLO, etc.)

The amounts they discuss are anywhere from 6000-10000 IU anyway, and my CLO has

less than 2500 IU of Vit A in one tsp (Barlean's), so this does not worry me.

Sorry, but the benefits are too high for me to worry about those fears which I

find unproven...

That's unkind and unecessary, Alobar.

If I were you I'd ask him to cite his references. What proof does he

have? And to which part of the cod liver oil is he referring? Surely

he is not referring to the Omega 3 fatty acids, the Vitamin A, or the

Vitamin D - all known to be essential for good health.

Thank you all for your input, I greatly appreciate it. It's very frustrating

when I try to find answers to important questions, like how to keep from losing

my hip to loss of cartlage and get so many conflicting answers from the best

" experts " I can find. This guy made his claim about CLO because he thinks it's

all rancid. He is one of the top naturopaths at the Hypocrites Institute and

here are his recomendations, in full, so you can see. I think you'll find them

interesting. Thanks again:

*All animal foods, chicken, eggs, bison, with their inherent acidity always

erode bone.

Eat highly rich protein sprouts, blue green and green algaes, sea vegetables,

and pollen.

In your smoothies, some pea protein or hemp protein.

All fruits are picked unripe Ned and also contribute to bone deterioration.

The green food with their minerals and the vegetables help to stop the

degeneration and begin the rebuilding. Wheat grass 2 ounces 2X a day , green

drinks 1/2 sprouts, ½ green vegetable, 12-16 ounces a day would be a powerful

aid.

Supplements are isolated chemicals and you would be better off taking whole food

varieties

*Fish oils are rancid, ineffective and even cancer causing.* I would stop the

vitamin E and A and replace it with the green drinks and or whole food varieties

from Garden of Life or New Chapter.

Jarrow ALA, Biosil, Zyflamend drops, Vitalzyme, Trace Minerals, Hylarub,

Ampelopsis, Natura and Lifegive C are all good supplements. iherb.com is by far

the cheapest on-line place to get supplements.

Eliminate synthetic vitamin C, coconut oil, and of course the Carlson Cod Liver

Oil. The oils can be replaced with a vastly effective Physnor-1 tablespoon AM

and 1 tablespoon PM. Note: Physnor is spelt as is, you can either get the

Physnor on-line or via our store on campus at the Hypocrites Institute.

Replace oils with Physnor-1 tblsp. AM and 1 tblsp. PM.

Emphasize eating chia seed sprouts, hemp, sprouted flax, walnuts, etc. Vitamin C

can be obtained through eating sweet red peppers or taking Lifegive brand

vitamin C.

Eggs are non-digestible and create an upsurge of sulfur compound that weaken

digestion and cardiovascular.

Salmon is riddled with chemistry, heavy metals, with potential parasites such

and amebas and certainly is not as healthy as they would lead you to believe. If

you replace this nonsense with sprouts, algaes, sea vegetable, nut loaves,

seeds, you will be fine.

When we train Olympic level athletes, they all initially have the same concern

as you and within weeks, realize what I have, more vitality, energy muscle

development, and strength.

Glucosamine and chondroitin are in great part a waste of money.

Supplements when whole food, not chemical and not filled with waste, are

excellent health builders.

Buy organic dried peas and make them into powder in a quasinar (a food

processor)

Never use fruits and vegetable together in you blender do not use apple cider

vinegar, it impairs digestion.

For bread, “Essene” bread in the frozen section of your health food store, the

rye version is permissible. (I think he means Manna bread, that might be the old

name for it)

Sported tortillas and organic popcorn are OK for those who are not suffering

disease.

(I asked him becaues I like popcorn...)

Never cook oil, it becomes carcinogenic.

There is a wonderful book by Michal Anderson called stretching, follow it. You

have to have therapies and equipment suited for you.

Reverse osmosis does not adequately purify any longer, drink good water

(I asked him about this too since I have an R.O. filter)
