OT: Punctuation is powerful

An English professor wrote the words:

 

**A woman without her man is nothing **

 

on the chalkboard and asked his students to punctuate it Correctly.

 

All of the males in the class wrote:

 

**A woman, without her man, is nothing.**

 

All the females in the class wrote:

 

**A woman: without her, man is nothing.**

I love this... I was as at a training session and learned this. Our

lesson was email communications and how by not using punctuation or

the correct punctuation can change the meaning of a simple sentence.

I was asked to come in front of the group of nearly 300 and was

handed an index card with " A woman without her man is nothing "

written on it. It probably wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't

mainly a men dominated group. I think I turned 50 shades of red and

then handed the paper back and said that " I refused to answer this

one " .... The facilitator asked me to come back up and to correct the

sentence... I was so thrown that it took me a few minutes... he then

read the card out loud... the group laughed.. We had a few

suggestions before I got it 100% correct. " A woman: without her, man

is nothing. "

My punctuation isn't 100% by far, but I'm working on it everyday..
