Dear Melody,

You need to ask the grower you're buying from.

I'm not sure if CA has implemented this new "law" yet or not.

Hopefully it's still on hold.

Perhaps one of our other members is up on this.

unshelled almonds are pasteurized. Something I read made me question

this.

Thanks in advance,

Dear Zoe,

Thanks for the update on this.

I was wondering where it had ended up.

Much love,

The law was implemented on September 1st unfortunately, they

rescinded the plan to put it on hold before we even got there.

The only way to get truly raw almonds is to buy directly from the

grower and the word now is UNpasteurized, Since raw has no meaning

any more

What they are calling raw almonds are in fact pasteurized and have

been since even before September 1st.

Contact Angelina McKinsey at Nut N Other farms in California. She

has " truly raw almonds " and does ship. I bought several pounds and they

were sooo delicious! Ask for a price list, tell her George Karatza

referred you. Here's the email: angie
