Guest guest
Every week we hear on the news... " old Sam and Bertha went to the convenience store and bought a ticket just like they've done every week for the last 8 years. Well two days ago, they spent their 2 bucks and lady luck smiled on them. Sam and Bertha won 37 million dollars before taxes!!! Now they can take it out in one lump sum and after taxes have close to 20 million in thier pockets, or get x dollars a week forever. To no ones surprise, both Sam and Bertha gave notice at work. " So here's the idea: The Strong America Energy Independence Lottery rules simple.. a national lottery that sells tickets for 1, 2 , 3, 5 or 10 bucks.. You can even have a max of 10 bucks a paycheck deducted automatically! It goes into a huge pool. If out of 225,000,000 potential adult buyers, let's say they take in 1 billion dollars a week, and they pay out 10% in prizes and spend 5% on advertising and other costs ( a huge amt for costs!), 5 % for maintenance and repair of equipment. There would be 800 million dollars left a WEEK for energy projects. let's say it's divided evenly between windmills for towns, cities, and counties, solar power for municipal buildings, Geo thermal development clean coal research and development solar powered shale oil extraction new nuke plant construction... solar/wind powered hydrogen extraction from water catch? all would be citizen owned. so 100 million in prizes weekly! say there are 5 prizes of 10 mil each 5 at 5 mil each and 25 at 1 mil each.. that would be a lot of rich people oh the tax money... goes directly back into the energy lottery pool for more projects and more energy. facts... a big windmill can supply power to a town of over 1000 people...wow! so the second part is that towns would draw #s and win by the pool . Imagine plug in stations on the highways that ran on wind or solar and cost little or nothing to use... because they were pre paid through the system.. With this type of approach, the US would likely become energy independent within a decade. Kennedy said we'd get a man on the moon within one decade. We did it. This can be done! I don't know about you, but I love this country. I love what it was supposed to be, and what it still can be.. But in order to get from here to there it requires not politics ( a waste of time and money and energy to be sure ) but simple intelligent ideas. Like the idea.... pass it on and send a copy of this letter to family, friends, and your congressman and Senator.. by all means, include my name and email in the letter.. thanks.. and God bless this country of ours.
