Did Chinese authorities put off a decision to issue a nationwide recall of

contaminated milk powder in August, that has since claimed the lives of two

babies, for the sake of the Olympics?

That is one conclusion being drawn after it was revealed that Sanlu, the

Chinese company that produced and sold the tainted powder was advised to issue

a

recall as far back as August 2 - six days before the opening of the Beijing

Olympics.

The milk scandal is world news now

Of course I am concerned for all the babies affected

I am also concerned for all the althletes who took part in the games, plus the support staff who also were in China with them, plus how many???? tourists and visitors during the games????? IF the Government knew about the contamination - and it seriously does appear that they did know at that time..... they are as culpapble as the perpetrators of this horrendous act.

What concerns me also is that I have NOT seen nor heard that our Government is testing our athletes for possible contamination too....... the problem could take longer to manifest in an adult perhaps than in a baby with still developing body parts?

Anyone seen / heard about althlete testing? It in not only baby formula that is contaminated.

I don't know how people could have been so stupid to have gone to

China for the Olympics and not taken their own food knowing very well

that China food could be tainted. My worry is how much of that food is

being sold regularly around the world. Josephine
