Type 2 diabetes

 

Type 2 diabetes is a severe form of [dys]metabolic syndrome X (DSX), as

shown below.

 

 

 

 

Each stage of potbelly syndrome (PBS) lasts until the stage before it is

cured or the patient dies. Consequently, the later stages overlap the earlier

stages. Anyone who lives long enough to develop type 2 diabetes will probably

still have all of the earlier stages of PBS

tells how infections lead to insulin

resistance and diabetes.

 

 

 

 

Legend:

DSX = dysmetabolic syndrome X (same as metabolic syndrome)

SCCS = subclinical Cushing's syndrome.
