Guest guest
Note that even when you juice fruits and veggies the friction does heat them some. If you research juicers you'll see that some of them point out that they are better than others because they don't heat the fruits/veggies. I didn't get that kind, but I did get a Vita-Mix, and their directions suggest adding ice cubes when juicing fruits/veggies you want to eat raw. I always feel the outside of the container and keep adding ice if it feels like it's getting less cold. Here's a link that explains it: http://www.discountjuicers.com/juicequality.html The key seems to be keeping it below 118 degrees. -- Maria -------------- Original message -------------- " sharonstrahan " <sharonstrahan Fresh is obviously always best, but freezing isn't bad. Heating would be the worst thing obviously since it can change the structure of enzymes and some heat sensitive vitamins (esp. Vit C and B- complex) rendering them useless. But freezing tends to lock those in, although over the long term I believe they will degrade like anything else. What a great idea though to get juice into kids in a fun form - I think if you're juicing then freezing and then serving it within a week or two that is far far better than nothing at all!
