Believe it or not I read this whole post! :-) And so glad I did.

It is a must read for everyone who thought they knew everything about

enzymes. So I have a question...eating raw food would give you all 3

types of enzymes..is that correct? Or are some of the enzymes found

in meat? I don't know if I want to eat red meat raw??? Thanks for

your help.

Hello.

I am glad you read the whole thing too. I find this and one other the

most information and helpful of all the articles about systemic

enzymes that I have posted. This is the other one you need to read

if you are interested in this subject.

Systemic Enzyme Therapy Supplement to The Art of Getting Well

This explains many things and answers many questions.I have this on

Word doc - if anybody wishes it, email me.The correct medical name

for the therapeutic use of natural enzymes is " Systemic Enzyme

Therapy. " This means that enzymes flow throughout our body, producing

the desired healing effects. Enzymes are necessary for the adequate

functioning of our whole metabolism. In our body, every part of it is

related to all the rest; that is, that even one tiny disturbance,

biochemically speaking, can result in a complete imbalance. Diseases

are the consequence of this disorder. The deficiency of any of these

co-enzymes will result in a specific medical condition. For example,

vitamin B1 deficiency will elicit " beri-beri. " The vitamin B12

deficiency causes a special anemia called " pernicious anemia. " The

same thing happens with deficiency of essential minerals and trace

elements. Basically, in these cases, we are speaking of an illness

elicited by a disturbance in the enzymatic balance. It is therefore

normal to use enzymes for therapeutic purposes. Substitution in

intestinal enzyme deficiency conditions is a classical treatment

modality that no one would dispute. External use of enzymes for

impaired wound healing (e.g. in the presence of varicose ulcers) has

been part of the armamentarium of medical practitioners for

centuries. Parental lytic therapy with streptolinase or urokinase for

cardiac infarct or for vascular occlusions is today standard

throughout the world. Enzymes are very highly substrate specific. Due

to their different places of action, it is therefore reasonable to

use mixtures of enzymes in the treatment of diseases. One important

enzyme is called the hydrolases, which cleave complex compounds

(esters, peptides, and glycosides). The defense mechanisms of the

organism are fortified by the enzymes. They are important for all the

inflammatory processes, they take care to keep a good blood

circulation, they help in wound healing of any kind.

There is additional info included in this pdf file that there is

not in the article above.

The pdf file has some info at the end that the other urls do not

have .

I think you are correct - if you eat at least 80% to 100% raw

foods you should get all the enzymes. And yes, raw meat is very

important. Protease which digest proteins are found in mean. I just

posted info about Enzymes deficiencies - it includes info on symptoms

of protease dificiency. Don't forget that our bodies' make these

enzymes until we get into our late 20s. So I don't know if even in

eating 100% raw food is you would get enough. I am not a scientist -

I am just like you, trying to get well and needing to find the

information to do so. I know that some systemic enzymes like

Serrapeptase, you cannot get from food though - serrapeptase is very

effective against inflammation and pain - I have been told that it is

the most effective against pain; but bromalain is suppposted to be

exceptionally good with pain too and is recommended for gout, for

instance [and bromalain is from pineapples]. I have been taking

systemic enzymes now since the end of last December and have been

amazed. I noticed a huge difference in energy in 2 weeks; plus I was

chemically injured & react badly to any amount of chemicals now but

my body copes with chemicals so much better even a few weeks after

starting to take these - but there have been studies on Gulf War

Veterans about this and it has been proven that they do help the body

cope with chemicals. But this last month all these scars have also

disappeared, my skin is much much firmer & I look 10 years younger,

etc so I can only imagin what it is doing to my insides. I am glad as

I have a lot to do in this life still and need to be strong and

healthy. Our bodies age because of the damage that inflammation does

to our organs, until we die from this damage regardless any illness

or conditions. Did you read this? - it explains about inflammation

and illnesses/diseases, etc.

Also raw milk is full of systemic enzymes - it is a couple food

but only if 'raw' or unpasteurized. You will find that it is quite an

experiance - the Mayo Clinic used to be a Foundation and used milk to

cure, yes to cure , several illnesses like TB, etc.

MILK CURES MANY DISEASES

http://realmilk.com/milkcure.html

by J. R. Crewe, MD

The following is an edited version of an article by Dr. J. R. Crewe,

of the Mayo Foundation, forerunner of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester,

MN, published in Certified Milk Magazine, January 1929. We are

grateful to Dr. Ron Schmid, ND of Middlebury, CT for unearthing this

fascinating piece. The " Milk Cure " was the subject of at least two

books by other authors, written subsequently to Dr. Crewe's work. The

milk used was, in all cases, the only kind of milk available in those

days—raw milk from pasture-fed cows, rich in butterfat. The treatment

is a combination of detoxifying fast and nutrient-dense feeding. Note

that Crewe quotes William Osler, author of a standard medical

textbook of the day. Thus, this protocol was an orthodox, accepted

therapy in the early 1900s. Today the Mayo Clinic provides surgery

and drug treatments, but nothing as efficacious and elegant as the

Milk Cure

If you are ever intereste, I have several articles and urls

n raw milk and what it does. This one is worth reading too.....

Enzymes

by Sally Fallon with Mary G Enig, PhD . Enzyme Nutrition Axiom: The

length of life is inversely proportional to the rate of exhaustion of

the enzyme potential of an organism. The increased use of food

enzymes promotes a decreased rate of exhaustion of the enzyme

potential. Whole foods give good health; enzyme-rich foods provide

limitless energy. Traditionally cultured or fermented foods have an

enzyme content that is actually enhanced by the fermenting &

culturing process. The metabolic enzymes play a role in all bodily

processes including breathing, talking, moving, thinking, behavior &

maintenance of the immune system. A subset acts to neutralize poisons

& carcinogens such as pollutants, DDT & tobacco smoke, changing them

into less toxic forms that the body can eliminate.

Let me know if you are thinking about trying systemic enzymes -

I have learned to google for the best prices once I knew what brand I

wanted to try , for example. I was surprised at the great difference

in prices for the exact same brand and size!!!

many blessings

PS Vitamins and minerals work a lot better with these enzymes too =

in fact can make the difference if the vitamins & minerals work at

all.
