ME/CFS CONFERENCES - CALGARY, ALBERTA October 24, 2008

- For Family Physicians, General Internists, Rheumatologist &

Psychiatrists November 8, 2008

- For Researchers & clinicians of all disciplines November 9, 2008

- Public Lecture

Dear Friends:

Below please find three announcements of conferences coming up in Alberta.

The event is co-sponsored by the University of Calgary and the University of

Alberta. International Speakers have been confirmed. I have purposely not

made these as attachments as many of you do not wish that. However, these

notices are available in jpg. Just send me a note and I will be happy to send

you the attachments.

Please post these notices on your web sites, let your members know and

especially send the notices to professionals who may be interested to attend.

The

research symposium will be an opportunity for clinicians, researchers and

patient advocates to jointly discuss the development of a Canadian Research

Agenda.

It is also important that someone would represent your organization and

attend the conferences. As there is still time, try to raise some funds to

send

one of your people to the conferences. At least one of each province would

be great. Dr. Stein needs assistance in many areas to make this conference a

success. A donation towards the funds to be expended for this project, would

also be of great assistance. Please contact if you can help. To make a

donation, her address is also listed below.

If you have any questions, or are able to help, please contact:

Ellie Stein MD

4523 – 16 A Street SW

Calgary, Alberta T2T 4L8

Phone: 287-9941 Fax: 287-9958

e-mail: _espc

_ (espc)

HELP WANTED: Dr. Stein needs assistance in many areas and if you can help,

please get in touch with her. Some of the areas she needs help in are:

* approaching specialty supplement companies who make the products we

all use.

* drugstore chains

* Specialty Supplement manufacturers

* approaching charities and businesses outside of the health sector.

* Health Food Stores, Homeopathic doctors, Nurses organizations,

public health agencies

* Getting the word out to researchers and non MD health professionals.

This could involve calling key people, asking them to send emails to their

contacts or organizations, putting up flyers around town, getting access to

email or FAX lists

* Approaching and inviting key public sector persons is important. A

volunteer is needed to make a list of key people and make the initial call.

* Putting posters around town

* Personally inviting health care professionals and non MDs, key

researchers

There may be other people whom we did not cover that you feel would be

interested in this conference. Please contact them. It is important that this

conference is a success so that more can be held in the future. Your help

would be much appreciated and we thank you.

See conference details below please.
