Guest guest
I enjoy the Life Extension articles. I also wake up several times during the night but this is my sleep style and I always go back to sleep. Years ago when I took Tryptophan, I found that I am susceptible to one of the negative reactions -- severe heart palpatations. I do not have such problems with the 5-HTP variety...but I do not feel that it helps me sleep, relax maybe. Source Naturals makes a liquid Melatonin and I take 2 droppersful when I lay down to sleep. If I " come to " during the night, I take another single dropperful. The best knock-me-outer is Benedryl but this dries up my body so I do not do this very often. Source Naturals makes a product called NutraSleep. This does nothing for me. If you can tolerate the Tryptophan, this may help. Warm milk is also very good but I do not use a lot of dairy products. So, a good highly absorable calcium supplement (most are not highly absorbable), which I have used, works also. Remember, never have coffee or chocolate within 2 hours of taking your calcium....Lynn Koiner - Ferit Tavlan Tuesday, May 13, 2008 7:22 PM << >> Tryptophan and sleep disorder; who can help? Hi, In the " Life extension Magazine April 2008 " there is a big Article about Tryptophan. http://www.lef.org/magazine/mag2008/apr2008_Why-Aging-People-Become-Depresse d-Fatigued-And-Overweight_01.htm I have massive sleep disorder since 2-3 months.. I am an 53 years old female, probably in the beginning of the menopause-period. Every night I wake up several times.. Do you think that a specific amount of L-Tryptophan, taken before bed time can help? Who has experience with it? Many thanks for Replies Lydia
