Can I ask what 'everything' is?

Dha is good doses? (not dhea)

Emp powerplus?

Sam-e in high enough doses? 1600mg a day and a good quality brand (some

brands tested had no sam-e in them!)

As far as exercise, jogging a few miles can seem very overwhelming when you

are depressed. But how about a brisk walk? A qi gong dvd?

There are some very calming qi gong exercises and some invigorating ones.

Sunlight!!! Can you get out early in the day for some light?

Making a list of what you need to do and just doing . the act of doing is an

antidepressant in itself.

If you are truly anhedonic, ie have loss of pleasure in activities, find

you're not eating well, have touble getting out you should seek professional

help. There are psychiatrists who can treat without medication. Certain

amino acids is higher doses have antidepressant effects.

I am just now being trained with the emp power plus but the studies behind

it are very exciting. Go to www.truehope.com

(I don't work for them!!!) I am just trying to learn every way possible to

help patients avoid traditional medications. I believe they can refer you

to someone who can help get you on it or maybe they help you I am not sure

how the process works I am just starting to learn about the product. A

doctor I am doing research with has been using it for a while and has had a

lot of success.

It is also good for helping get people off of ssri's in terms of tolerating

the withdrawal

I hope this helps some.

<< >> Rhodiola and depression

Has anyone had had any success using rhodiola as an

anti-depressant?I've had severe depression for at least 16 years and

originally self-medicated with caffiene in the day and alcohol in the

evening.I tried various ssri's and they had terrible mental and

physical side-fx.I sometimes use water soluble vitamins eg c and

b's,and tried st johns wort in the 90's a few times although it was

300mg a day and not the 3 x 300mg I have read about in the last few

years.I've also read about rhodiola's use as well.I know about using

exercise as well, although when so depressed that I can't go outside

the idea of jogging a few miles is not happening.
